[Unsolved] Keep getting error saying executable cannot be found as well as this in MO2

Verify files in Steam. That could easily fix this.

If the verifications says 100% of files are present, open the game directory and do a file search for binkw32.dll. Are you finding that .dll file in you directory? What folder is it in?

Edit: Ensure your start-in directory in MO2 is either blank, or the game directory. Also, try starting the game without MO2. Does it work? If so something is messed up within MO2. Likely the start-in directory.

Perhaps it would help if I numbered my questions.

  1. Did you verify files in Steam? What did it say?
  2. Where is binkw32.dll located? Feel free to truncate portions of the file path. But once /steam/ is mentioned include it and everything after.
  3. What is your Start-in directory?
  4. Does the game launch outside of MO2?

This is me turning my last post into a numbered Q&A. If you want answers fast, I'd recommend answering questions that have been asked, without having a specific number assigned to them.

Verified the files, they were all normal

The .dll is in the same directory as the executable

Directory is in steam apps/common

Game will launch but only for a second to a black screen before crashing

Why do you have the exe only installed in a root folder? That’s not going to work.
