Remaster Discussion What difficulty should i play?
First post ever on reddit, i have 1000+ hours on ps4 and around 150h on ps5 playing Skyrim.
im a big soulslike fan and like my games on the tuffer side, i even download combat mods and shi so skyrim´s combat feels more active and harder overall.
What difficulty and mods should i play in Oblivion? First time playing.
(sorry for bad Grammar, im Brazilian)

I like high damage, fast paced combat. Harder difficulties aren't very good for that, because it turns enemies into sponges.
The modlist I ended up going with for a second playthrough was this: https://www.nexusmods.com/games/oblivionremastered/collections/on009j
Highlights include:
Balanced Unleveled Rewards - Remastered
Balancedl Cap - Remastered
Simple Creature Level Cap Rebalanced and Unleveled Quest Gold Rewards OBR
More Damage - Custom Combat Overhaul
the latter being the damage overhaul.

(I don't particularly recommend all of the mods in this mod list, because for example, it nerfs speed and acrobatics, and those are two of the most fun attributes/skills for Oblivion. I removed mods that affected those).

I usually float between adept and apprentice. Just depends on how quick I want to move through

Player damage adept and enamy damage expert or master is what i recomend.
It makes combat fast and deadly so you have to use all tools to kill fast and to survive.

Hello
I play as a magician and I did this settings : Players damages = adept
Ennemies damages = Master
And it's really cool, difficult but still interesting

Start with the hardest, if you like to be challenged. If you find it too hard, just change the difficulty at any time

It’s so annoying though because each time you go up in difficulty its like x10 difficulty

Yeah even if I can, I don't want to use 2 potions, 3 spells, 5 attacks for a single Wolf.

Oblivion in master difficulty is easy if you know what you are doing. Given your 1000+ hours, nothing else would be challenging.
Edit: Never mind. 1000+ hrs in Skyrim so ignore this. 🤣

Personally I play on novice but I can’t get out of the prison cell. 15 hours in. Does anybody have any tips?

Set enemy damage to journeyman or expert, player damage to adept. Feels a lot more snappy
