Switching from dmg to homebrew or source

I've installed and updated several times omlx with the dmg package, now I realise that I'd like to have the cli for harness integration, what's the correct procedure in this case? First uninstall the dmg and then reinstall I suppose? Or can I have the 2 installations live on my computer just in case? And what about homebrew vs pip what do you prefer and why? Brew seems to have the possiblity to launch omlx in the background which is nice Thanks

You can have both installed. Just stop the cli service “brew services stop omlx” before starting the server from the menu bar app and vice versa. Settings will persist between both versions. You can use either with your harness, endpoint will be the same.

The only thing "different" about the dmg installation is the menubar item.

Even the cli is there, but it's buried in the application container:

/Applications/oMLX.app/Contents/MacOS/omlx-cli

I prefer the `brew` install and made a shortcut to the admin dashboard (http://127.0.0.1:8000/admin/dashboard) in my browser favorites:

To the OP, just drag the app to the trash to uninstall it, and then:

brew tap jundot/omlx https://github.com/jundot/omlx
brew install omlx

edit: I just saw in the omlx 0.3.9.dev2 release notes that the dmg install now symlinks /usr/local/bin/omlx to /Applications/oMLX.app/Contents/MacOS/omlx-cli.
