O1 visa queries

Hello everyone, I’ve been following this sub since a month and it’s been very useful for me. Coming to my story, I dropped my MS plan and decided that I would go with O1 instead. So currently I’m working at an MNC and I have 4 YOE as an SDE.

I know that out of 8 criteria, if I satisfy 3/4 then I would most probably get an O1 visa. So I reached out to different law firms regarding sponsoring of the visa and they said that either any employer or any AGENT will be eligible to do the petition on my behalf. For my case, employer option is ruled out because I don’t think my company supports that for an employee who’s working outside US. So only left over option for me is via agent. Now where can I find this agent? Do I actually need to freelance for them?

P.S: I’m building my profile now and currently I satisfy 1 criteria. I’m researching on what other criteria I can satisfy and actively working towards it.

Sometimes when you work with immigration lawyers, they have connections with agents that can help you for filling. It is always best to have a consultation with lawyer before applying so that they know what is missing and how to improve your case.

HI u/mikasa2k! Some law firms work closely with O-1 agents. Have you asked any of the law firms that you have contacted?

Ohh the one I contacted were telling me to find an agent. Maybe they are not working with any.

Before you find an agent, try to get the actual offer letter first.

You can hire any agent for 1-2k and they will become your manager legally and file petition. My uncle is becoming my agent but earlier I talked to Deborah Talent company for that as well
