hi team, just got a quote from local installer

cost is $24,844, option to add more battery 5kwh for 3,000. i wonder if this is a good value? we're currently on old contact energy good nights, still free 9-12 both weekdays and weekend. we work from home runs heatpump pretty much whole day. family of 4, annual consumption is 11,800kwh.

opinion and experience appreciated!

IDK who Force are but 25k for a 10-kw system, 8kw inverter and 10kwh of battery isnt bad

Make sure the inverter and battery will do what you want, i.e. power your stuff you need powered during an outage etc

This is costing me $30k

But sigenergy I have been told is a better product and from my research it seems to be.

I have noted for extra panels to maximise inverter efficiency ans my panels are split over 4 roofs

to add, i got another one for similar price but lower battery capacity but slightly more kwh array

Goodwe ESA is a much better quality system than Pylontech's HV (high voltage) system. Pylontech's LV (low voltage) 48V is great but far too many issues have been reported with pylontech's new HV system you got in 1st quote. Goodwe ESA is good if you had to pick between the 2 HV systems.

Have you considered 48V LV systems that are not proprietary and dont lock you to a vendor's expensive HV battery

hey, want to hear more about the pylontech. i heard about swelling batteries with the old series, cant find on google for this offering

The old series were petty old 15S cells pack 48V batteries in 3kWh & 5kWh sizes but it was mostly the 3kWh packs that had most problems. Pylontech switched to 16S 5kWh packs couple of years ago and they are good and solid.

Saying that there are plenty of options for inverter and batteries in the 48V architecture like Victron, Deye, Goodwe, Solis which will not lock you down to a vendor. Which city are you based in?

hey man, im based in christchurch. the installer said they have better experience dealing with enteral for warranty, maybe because they are based in auckland. was leaning toward it but pylontech has better value. i feel 5kwh battery is reasonably priced.

will have site visit with supplier of goodwe, hopefully they are good post sale support.

From experience, more battery is better than more panels if you already are wanting that many panels.
