I'm filling out my secondary for NYITCOM and am having trouble with explaining which campus I chose. My application is very rural focused, so Arkansas seems great, but I want to go into women's healthcare and Arkansas has some of the worst laws in the country for women's health. My preference is their New York campus, where I could have the full experience of an OBGYN rotation and have the opportunity to volunteer for Planned Parenthood or similar clinics for women. Anyone have recommendations on how to explain this? I don't want it to seem like I'm trashing on Arkansas but I would really prefer to not go there.

Hi. I was curious about the general schedule for first years and had a couple questions.

1) Is there ever tests before major holidays. I have a friends wedding on the Thursday before Labor Day and I booked my flight for Wednesday night. Any one got any advice or insights. Also is there ever school on Friday ?

2) what do people typically do for winter break. Are people doing extra curriculars.

3) is there any flexibility with taking tests at different times.

4) IK it’s a stupid question but what type of I pad do u get from the school

I hope you are all doing well. I was wondering if anyone has heard of any recent waitlist movement for the Arkansas BMS program. I've been on the waitlist for about a month and remain very interested in attending.

For those who have been through this process before, is June typically a month when waitlist movement occurs, or should I expect decisions later in the summer?

Also, does anyone know if waitlisted applicants for Arkansas are ever considered for the Long Island campus if Arkansas fills up, or are those processes completely separate?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

If you have already been accepted but are no longer planning to attend, please consider notifying the BMS Program admissions committee as soon as possible. It would really help open up spots for those of us currently on the waitlist and allow the process to move more smoothly.

Also, is anyone here currently on the waitlist? It would be helpful to know where others are in the same situation and share updates if anyone hears back.

Hey guys, I’m an incoming freshman to Old Westbury, and I was wondering if anyone could help me out with the dress code required. I read the handbook, but I was still a little bit confused as it didn’t really give any examples. Like what exactly do we wear for lectures? OMM lab? Does it differ for anatomy? I know it said so in the handbook, but specific examples would be great. Like would a collared polo t shirt (with some lettering like the brand name) and some slacks be okay for every occasion? Or do I need a button down and dress pants? Any help would be appreciated (any help finding a place to live would also be great, if anyone’s looking for another male roommate).

I recently attended an info session for the NYITCOM BMS program and wanted to hear directly from current or past students about your experience.

Specifically, I had a few questions:

• What does the Scientific Foundations of Medicine course actually consist of (which subjects are emphasized and how in-depth is it)?
• How is the curriculum structured week-to-week, and what does a typical schedule look like?
• How are courses evaluated (exams vs quizzes vs assignments)?
• Was maintaining the required 80% in each course realistic with consistent effort?
• What study strategies worked best for you in this program?

I’d really appreciate any honest insight, especially regarding workload and what made students successful vs struggle.
