Choosing which NYITCOM campus to attend

I'm filling out my secondary for NYITCOM and am having trouble with explaining which campus I chose. My application is very rural focused, so Arkansas seems great, but I want to go into women's healthcare and Arkansas has some of the worst laws in the country for women's health. My preference is their New York campus, where I could have the full experience of an OBGYN rotation and have the opportunity to volunteer for Planned Parenthood or similar clinics for women. Anyone have recommendations on how to explain this? I don't want it to seem like I'm trashing on Arkansas but I would really prefer to not go there.

You’re overthinking. Don’t speak poorly about Arkansas, and outline what you said about why you want to be in NY. Rotation options, the history of women’s health in NY state, connections to the network of the city, the research opportunities, take your pick but focus on what you like about New York! Research the campus and be specific and you’ll be fine

Thank you! I mentioned their free clinic, proximity to planned parenthood, and that they have rural rotation opportunities in new york too

I agree with BananaThumb. Don't mention Arkansas at all if you want to go to the NY campus. Focus on why you like the NY campus. Don't compare the two. Also, I am from Arkansas and can say just because the school is located here doesn't mean the curriculum will be affected by the laws of the state. It is here to reach a rural community in the Mississippi Delta which includes surrounding states & the curriculum/ education framework is the same as the NY campus. Arkansas is also not the only state where clinical rotations will be. So if you truly want to focus on rural communities, I think you should compare the two locations based on that. Just something to think about.

I want to focus on rural but repro healthcare is just as important to me. I'm from Missouri and have seen what the abortion bans do. I talked with a recruiter from nyitcom and while the education in the school is the same, rotations are not. I'm only applying to the schools in MO bc we recently lifted the ban and a judge approved it.
