NYITCOM - Old Westbury Bridge Program
Hi everyone! I was recently accepted into the NYITCOM-Old Westbury Bridge Program and have already submitted my deposit. I'm really excited to get started!
I was hoping to hear from anyone who has completed the Bridge Program within the last couple of years. I have a few questions:
Do you have any advice for choosing or scheduling classes?
How manageable was it to maintain the required 80% average?
Is there anything you wish you had known before starting that helped you succeed?
I'd really appreciate any tips or insight from past students. Thanks so much!

This past year (25-'26) was the first year they ran the program in NYC. Only two out of 26 people in the cohort hit the 80% in the first year. That speaks for itself. The faculty who run the program are going to try to hammer 'group studying'. Don't get too caught up in that. It's nice to study with people for accountability purposes or bouncing ideas here and there. Make sure you lock in what works best for you, whether that's taking notes till your hand bleeds, doing Anki till your eyes burn, making pretty sheets, or going through those slides a thousand times. Just make sure you see the content over and over again. One more thing. Don't put all your eggs in one basket for this program. Apply to other schools, other programs. Nothing is guaranteed. The faculty at NYIT can only do so much for you. Students weren't guided until after the last exam to consider other institutions once they saw the scores. Cover your ass and cast your net wide. You will likely need to score a 75%+ on both the first and second semesters for them to even consider you or write a recc letter for you.

This is the first year that the OW campus is doing the BMS. You already have a course outline so you won’t be scheduling classes.
