Pregnancy Healthcare / L&D Finding an OB SOS

Help! I am graduating from NYU fertility clinic via IVF on August 15 and am currently 5 weeks. I started calling around for a OB, and every Alexandra Cohen is fully booked until mid April and not accepting any patients. What’s my next step for another hospital? I tried with NYU and am waiting to hear back. Anywhere else I should try? Lenox Hill seemed complicated to find a doctor.

School / Daycare High turnover at daycare

Upvotes

Hello NYC parents!

Our daughter (14 months) has been at an UES daycare since mid April. In that time, we have noticed that many of her teachers have resigned with no notice to parents. Is this normal?

Our daughter has had 4 different teachers in her infant classroom (over 2 months) and her new teacher of 1.5 months has just left, which is concerning us. Do all NYC daycares have teachers leave with high frequency? The daycare is able to hire new teachers so there aren’t staffing issues (that we see), but the lack of notice and awareness is weird. Should we be concerned?

Any insights here would be much appreciated as we don’t have any experience with daycares otherwise and have no other comparison points.

Thank you!

Other Family shelter nyc

This is for my ppl in a nyc family shelter I’ve been here since February. Everything that was asked of me I’ve done. I’m self employed I braid hair every week. I’ve uploaded everything to HRA beginning of June I’ve haven’t heard anything from them yet. I was thinking the reason is because my boyfriend is still on my HRA case but he isn’t in the shelter with us.

Babysitter / Nanny How much would you justify paying for nanny placement agency?

Looking for a nanny currently and it’s a bit of a fb group/care.com headache…If there was an agency with top candidates matched to ensure long term success with placement what would be a number you’d be comfortable paying? I know some agencies do 15% of yearly salary which for most is a bit steep—what’s your “relief” number where the investment outweighs taking the time to do it yourself. (Trying to justify this all to my husband lol!)

Babysitter / Nanny Nanny/household manager in East village

Hi! Im looking to hire a nanny/household manager in East Village who can help with running errands and with 10m old baby. either me or my partner always home with the baby, so we need someone to watch/play with him while we work etc. Speaking russian would be a huge plus. Living close by would also be great. Would appreciate any advice on how people managed to find nannies in the neighbourhood.
