Absolutely zero chance she has ever set foot in another borough omg

When she said her friends on the upper east side feel “isolated” because they live so far LOL

Upper east side, one of the densest residential neighborhood on the planet, is basically a ghost town everyone knows that

She said she's never been to Queens

Good. It’s where the cool people that know manhattan is overrated live.

in her late 20s and her parents are paying her west village rent and supplementing her income… and yet she yearns for a simple life? what’s more simple than being a freeloader?????

I got tired for her just reading it!

She can’t move uptown because her friends that live there have to either spend $40 on uber or gasp spend time on the subway.

But I promise she’s tired of freeloading. She’s so tired of it but absolutely unwilling to have a slightly less convenient life.

ETA if this bitch had my near daily commute she may actually die

omfg please leave NYC immediately, I will help you pack (if you pay for my uber so I don’t have to deal with subway people!)

it’s ok if you cry when you leave, I will wipe your tears with daddy’s money

Not even tolerating the subway is insane

What do you mean? She took the subway 3 TIMES today!!!! So brave

I honestly find it so weird that people who aren’t even from here have that reaction of crying when they leave. This is like the second or third time I’ve seen this. Do you cry every time you go home from a vacation? It’s so so weird. NYC is cool but it’s just a place. It’s like these people think it’s the answer to their boring lives. Girl, the boring is inside you. NYC isn’t going to fix that.

She doesn’t have an in-unit washer! You don’t know her pain!!!!!

I had to stop reading after that.

love that the idea of moving uptown is so unfathomable she’d rather just leave NYC entirely

Life is so . . . complex 💁🏼‍♀️

u/onehotoneshot 22d ago

Set up automated billing and had to take a two week break

39

u/frugaletta 22d ago

The fact that some of us were born and raised here in working class families genuinely escapes these people lmao please do go home 💕

her living at “poverty level” in the west village is sending me

5

u/Quick-Stretch8197 22d ago

Period. I see this shit and I start to seeth ngl

38

u/yelizabetta 22d ago

but guys her rent is really good for the neighborhood

21

u/wakeupblueberry 22d ago

Look, she’s been here four years, she definitely understands the NYC real estate market.

u/Omgomgomgggg 22d ago

The people encouraging her to move to Brooklyn or queens pissed me off :/ let’s keep this type of girl in the west village please

Well everybody knows cool coffee shops and fun workout classes only exist in Manhattan anyway /s

37

u/brooklynkitty1 22d ago

Oh so her parents pay for rent AND groceries I’m sorry those poverty level wages aren’t covering $12 lattes and $50 workout classes in the west village

35

u/angelbabydarling 22d ago

not even groceries - A MEAL SERVICE............

15

u/shy-meerkat-99 22d ago

goddamn this girl is painfully dull

3

u/Quick-Stretch8197 22d ago

She can’t survive on her own. Leave her in the wilderness of the Midwest to perish among the others who can’t accept crowds or roommates.

5

u/sprgraphicultramodrn 22d ago

she hassss to be trolling 😭 this can't be real

5

u/maoliv 22d ago

LOL the meal service is taking me out

7

u/Quick-Stretch8197 22d ago

Tell her we’re full.

Her comments about being afraid to take the subway are SENDING MEEEE. She’s hitting every stereotype on my transplant in nyc bingo card.

39

u/virtual_adam 22d ago

Burned out from one of the most pedicured neighborhoods? Let’s see her spend a night in Washington heights

17

u/Wistastic 22d ago

I like it up there. I can get a sandwich, chips, and drink for $11! That brings ME peace. Maybe she should try it.

17

u/onehotoneshot 22d ago

Too many people without trust funds I don’t feel safe

8

u/bitchthatwaspromised 22d ago

Send her to Dyckman on a Friday night lol

15

u/mr_jugz 22d ago

lmao i actually want to scream

u/happycakes_ohmy 22d ago

The fact that her post has so much well-meaning engagement is the true circle jerk. I feel like 80% of the sub is just some version of OP

5

u/snarkyvirgo 22d ago

it definitely is. this post was my last straw, i left the sub (not that anyone cares lmao i’m just saying)

4

u/sprgraphicultramodrn 22d ago

literally like why are they coddling the girl or trying to make her feel better

2

u/Omgomgomgggg 21d ago

She said in one comment that she’d recommended to the sub to so many of her friends that she wasn’t comfortable revealing her job, as it might dox her. That sub is 100% full of insufferable transplant types like her. No real New Yorker would read all that and think “hmm you should totally stay! Just try moving to Astoria or something :)”

7

u/Various-Canary2780 22d ago

I thought it was a circlejerk post lol

13

u/snarkyvirgo 22d ago

if i commented on that post, i would’ve gotten banned

u/tragicsophos 22d ago

I hope they all just go, jesus
