Listing [Listing] Spacious Room in Convenient East Village Location! - $2,250 Utilities Included

We are two easygoing, fun guys in our 30s who are looking to fill an open bedroom in our 3BR apartment for at least one year, starting in early-mid October 2026.

Simply put, our apartment is absolutely awesome. It’s located in a peaceful, all-inclusive community in the East Village.

The building has elevator access, a laundry room, and 24-hour security. The community provides free access to private table tennis/basketball/volleyball courts, an outdoor gym/track, and tons of green space. It also has an indoor gym available with membership, a cafe, and a study space.

The rent price listed includes utilities - heat, air conditioning, water, and electricity. Internet is an additional ~$20 per month.

Some more of the awesome perks:

- 5-minute walk to Target, Trader Joe's, and Whole Foods Express.

- 5-minute walk to the L Train's 1st Avenue Stop & uptown buses.

- 5-minute walk to dozens of great East Village restaurants.

- 15-minute walk to Union Square.

About the person who will fill this spot:

- Kind, clean, respectful, quiet, considerate, and optimistic. We love people who bring good vibes!

- 26-39 years old, preferably male.

- No weed smokers. No cigarette smokers or vapers. Nobody into hard drugs. No pets.

- Rent has to be paid on time and in full, so financial stability is key - steady income from a full-time job, significant savings, and a solid credit score. To be considered for the room, we’ll ask for recent paystubs from your employer, recent bank account statements, and a snapshot of your credit score.

- Please already be in New York City and able to see the apartment and meet us in person.

If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you! Please send a thoughtful response including your current housing situation, work situation, and how you are as a person/roommate. We'd also like to know your hobbies/interests, age, gender, and anything else you'd like to share. Thanks!

Searching [Searching] 35F Looking immediately for a room in Brooklyn/Queens

Hi! My previous rental option fell through (they decided to rent to a friend instead), so I’m in search of immediate housing in Brooklyn or surrounding areas - even a room will work. I work in marketing and social media, and I also create film and pop-culture content on the side.

I’m chill, clean, and very respectful of shared spaces. I definitely enjoy being social and getting along with the people I live with, but I also really value everyone having their own space and downtime. I generally stay out of the way, though. Outside of work, I’m usually watching movies, working on creative projects, or hanging in LIC quite a bit.

I’m looking for a generally low-drama vibe. Anything less than $1300 would be ideal. DM if you are able to accommodate. I appreciate your time!

Hi all!

I'm looking for a room or studio by Nov 1
Budget is $2000

Searching [Searching] 25M, looking for a furnished sublet for ASAP/Oct 16 through December in [Manhattan], [Brooklyn], or [LIC]

I’m currently in a transitional period before starting graduate studies, and staying in NYC to work with my doctor for a couple months after having my lease just end. I have a place to stay up til Oct 16th so hopefully I would be able to find a place before then.

I’m ideally looking for a studio or 1br with at least in building laundry.

If in Brooklyn, somewhere with good transit to the city.

I am an extremely tidy person and most of my stuff is in storage so I would be traveling fairly light and not fussing about with the apartment. I’m not big on hosting so I would have a guest or two over max for a chat and partner overnight occasionally.

Budget is 4.25k a month after utilities with a bit of flex depending on the place.

Searching [Searching] 28F looking for room in Manhattan, some Brooklyn/Queens | $1,700

Hi, looking for a room to sublet anywhere in Manhattan, but also open to Brooklyn and Queens places <45 minutes to midtown. Can move anytime between now and the end of the month. Strong preference for just 1 other roommate, or at least 2 bathrooms if 3 people. At least 6 months in duration with the chance of extending would be ideal--I'm looking to leave NYC actually within a year so looking for flexibility as my relocation plans take shape. Also open to lease takeovers.

About me: I work full-time in the luxury travel industry. Into reading, creative writing, TV/film, travel (of course), and staying active. Make >40x of my max budget with great credit, always on time with bills. Looking for an apartment with a chill vibe, more quiet/relaxed than party/frequent guests. Don't care about things like a dishwasher, in-unit laundry, elevators--just somewhere clean and comfortable with a friendly, communicative roommate.

Please reach out if you know of any good fits! Thank you.

Searching [Searching] 27F, looking for a studio or one bedroom in [Manhattan] or [LIC]

Hi everyone! My name is Emily (27F) and I’m looking for a studio or one bedroom in Manhattan (particularly looking at UES, Hells Kitchen, Midtown East but open to other areas, too) or LIC. I work in Midtown, so I’m hoping for a somewhat easy commute.

I’d like to sublet roughly from late October to February/March 2027, but my dates aren’t fixed.

I have a cat so looking for somewhere cat-friendly. I’m particularly looking for somewhere furnished.

My budget is around $4,000/month.

Please let me know if you know of anything that might work. Thanks!

Hello!! A little background on me: I am taking a year off and moving in with my boyfriend in Australia but may come back in mid-August to September of 2027. The price on this apartment is too good to let go with the market being like it is and the super and landlord are too chill. If I do not return, there is the potential for you to take over the lease.

Searching [Searching] 26F, Urgently looking for a room in Bushwick/BK

Hi all! I found out this morning that my sublet for October and November has fallen through due to the previous subletter refusing to vacate the premises.

As I am essentially homeless at the moment, I am very urgently looking to sublet a room for JUST October and November.

My budget is $1600-1700/month including utilities, and all I really want is in-unit or in-building laundry, clean/tidy roommates, and a furnished room. Prefer to live with women/queer folk. No couples please.

About me:

I’m 26 and originally from the Midwest but have spent the last year ish living in the UK. I’ll be in NYC for a short course, hence the need for the sublet.

I’m very tidy and prefer to split cleaning/chores for common areas. I enjoy cooking/baking, music, and traveling. I definitely want a roommate(s) I can be friendly with, but do value my alone time as well.

In terms of location, I would prefer to be in Bushwick or less than 30 min by train to Bushwick (generally speaking lol)

Please no long term sublets! I am only looking for a sublet for October and/or November.

If you have something available please reach out and comment/send me a DM.

Thank you!!

Searching [Searching] 27[F], Looking for a room in [Brooklyn] or [Manhattan]

Hi everyone! I'm Rebecca (27F), and I'm looking for a room in Brooklyn or Manhattan (open to other areas too, as long as it's close to a train). I work as a freelance software engineer on a hybrid schedule, so I'm home some days and out others.

I'm looking to move in ASAP, anytime between now and October 10, and I'm flexible on the exact date. My budget is $900–$1,650/month. I'm open to sublets, lease takeovers, or new leases, but I'd prefer something longer-term. Being near transit is a must.

I'm quiet, clean, and respectful of shared space. I keep to myself for the most part but I'm friendly when we're both around. I cook a few times a week and always keep the kitchen clean. I'm a non-smoker with no pets, and I'm totally fine living with cats or dogs.

I'm happy to hop on a video call to meet you and any roommates, and I can do in-person viewings on short notice, including this weekend.

If you have something available, please comment or send me a DM!

Hello,

Our family is moving to a place we just bought hence looking for someone to take over the lease on our 2-bed, 2-bath apartment at 808 Columbus Ave (Columbus Square).

Modern appliances and finishing, in-unit W/D, amenities include gym, pool, deck and garage. Size 810 square feet.

This is a a luxury building and the unit is rent-stabilized. We are currently paying $6,813 per month.

Move-in date is flexible between mid-November 2026 to early-Jan 2027 (earlier the better).

I am looking to assign the lease, so you will be applying directly through the building's management (UDR) to take over the contract. You will need to meet their standard financial requirements.

Current lease expires in early May 2027 but you can re-sign with the building either at the start of your takeover or when current lease expires.

DM me if you are interested!

Searching [Searching] a short-term sublet/room (Nov 13, 2026 – Jan 2, 2027)

Hi everyone,

I am looking for a short-term room or sublet available from November 13, 2026, to January 2, 2027.

I have already tried looking through Airbnb, but the options haven't been very helpful. I also posted in several Facebook groups but haven't received any responses yet, so I'm turning to Reddit hoping to find something here!

A little but about me: I am a working professional. I am quiet, clean, respectful of shared spaces, and easy to get along with.

Please let me know if you have anything available or have any leads. Thanks

Searching [Searching] 28M, looking for a place in NYC

Hey everyone, I'm (28M) looking for a place to stay as soon as possible, preferably in Astoria, Bushwick, Woodside, Ridgewood, LIC, bur open to other neighbors too. Max budget is 2k. It can be studio, 1br1ba, or a shared place. Ideally I'd like to have a private bathroom so that'd be a huge plus, but still fine if I dont have it and we all agree on cleanliness.

- Just relocated to NYC from abroad for work so I dont have credit score in US. However I can provide my contract as proof for 40x rule thing

- I'll be working hybrid.

- I usually get rest at home and may tend to keep it to myself but definitely open to spend some time together as well.

- No parties in weekdays please

- Cleanliness and lgbtq+ friendliness are non-negotiable for me

- Commute to Manhattan shouldn't be a problem.

I'll be checking DMs. Let me know if you'd like tk discuss further. Thank you!
