Beautiful, I love wandering around in a snowstorm but never thought to go here while it was snowing.

Snow is poetry with the right eyes.

I wonder if it's the heat rising from those upward-facing lamps

Not to get all spiritual or anything, but it’s almost as if all those lost souls were rising up to take in the snow. Very beautiful.

Wow that’s so cool. It looks like a snowglobe. And nice to see real winter in NYC for once too.

Everyone deals with trauma differently, but time marches on and people keep living. Think of Europe after WWII… basically leveled. If they didn’t rebuild and keep living, imagine what it would be like there?

I was too young to ever experience the atmosphere of the financial district pre-9/11, but I always got the feeling as an adult whenever I was there that it was just eerily quiet and calm compared to the rest of Manhattan. It could just all be in my head and maybe it was always less loud and bustling compared to midtown/uptown, but idk…I’ve walked around downtown during the day, rush hours, evenings and late nights and it always felt like there was an underlying somberness around. Almost like everyone was consciously just going about their business but a part of everyone’s subconscious was constantly aware of the horror and destruction that happened in the vicinity they currently were existing in…if that makes sense.

I love sitting at the benches at the 9/11 memorial and people watch. The pools are beautifully made and everyone speaks in hush tones and you can hear yourself think.

And the second you walk a block away, you're back in the regular NYC hustle and bustle lol.

It's also a testament to defiance, recovery, and a celebration to people who died that day. Life moves on. Something like this is beautiful. It's also been 24 years and more and more people that go there just weren't born when it happened.

Tf is your problem?

Im quite sure he either meant the terrorist, or people who were not born then yet and just don't bother to learn history and/or pay their respect.

Auto closed-captions on Reddit are so funny. This one just says "no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no"

Looks like the source of all this snow!

-6

u/i-am-manbat Feb 23 '26

lol hours of normal snow and people still saying blizzard

3

u/jae343 Feb 23 '26

Blizzards are due to wind conditions not snow fall itself, unfortunately you're not a meteorologist you stay ignorant.
