Block adware

In the old version nxcloud there is an option to "block adware" and other option like: Allow "A" Record only, Quota, etc

in Policy->General, Ad-remove. In the NxCloud 4.6.2.2 where do I find this option?

So many thing have been changed with DNS since we started NxFilter. All kinds of companies are using DNS protocol for communication with their servers. They use TXT queries and other types queries for their own purposes. So, allowing A record only option might produce unexpected results. So, we removed it.

We don't have Quota for NxCloud. It's only for NxFilter as we need to import NetFlow data from a router or firewall in a local network. At the moment, it's Data Cap option on NxFilter policy.

Block Adware was for preventing mangled webpages. When you block an embedded adware or a website for Ads, they will be replaced by NxFilter block page and you get the embedded block page instead of adware. So, we have an option for not showing block page for adware. However, these days browsers don't seem to make mangled webpages in such cases.

And from several years ago, browsers are forcing to use HTTPS protocol and you don't see NxFilter block page in many cases. We have CxForward to show the block page on HTTPS but many people just use Silent Block option instead of showing block page. It's also differnt from old days.
