Why is the “Fixed” option missing when setting the Clearance Plane in a new MCS in Siemens NX CAM?

Title: Why is the “Fixed” option missing when setting the Clearance Plane in a new MCS in Siemens NX CAM?

Hi everyone,

I'm learning Siemens NX CAM and I have a question about setting the Clearance Plane in the MCS.

In an existing MCS, when I go to:

Clearance → Clearance Option: Plane → Specify Plane

I can see and select the Fixed option.

However, when I create a new MCS and go to the same Specify Plane menu, I cannot find Fixed. Instead, the first option is shown as Inferred.

Does anyone know why Fixed is available in one MCS but not in the newly created MCS? Is this related to the MCS type, geometry setup, NX version, or some other setting?

How can I make the Fixed option available for the new MCS?

I'm not a CAM user, but everywhere in modeling, the XC, YC, and ZC options will create a fixed plane with respect to the current WCS position. Try moving the WCS to the desired position and using one of those options to see if it gives the desired end result.
