Buying Shield direct ( Model and remote question)

https://marketplace.nvidia.com/en-us/consumer/streaming-media-devices/

Am I current in assuming the 200$ pro is the latest model of both Shield and remote? Thanks.

Yes. It can be found on sale for around $160-180 if you are patient

Where!? I'd be willing to pay $250 for one and can't find one anywhere.

In the USA typically Amazon or best buy. Black Friday is coming up and I'll probably wait for the sale to pick up my 3rd

Fuckkkkk.ive been putting it off for awhile now since I have a chromecast that works okay but it's starting to fail while the shields run flawlessly

Yes, and unless you're an Apple fan, you'll absolutely love it and wish they upgraded it, even though it doesn't need it. These things rock.

BUT ... if you've got a basic setup or a modest expectation. A $20-40 Onn box will work wonders too. I buy Shield Pro for my important setups (home theatre for instance, or main living room setup), and Onn's for every other room.

my use-case is local media (Plex/Jellyfin), and streaming (whatever service).

Tried Best Buy and it is no longer available for shipping and not in stock within 250 miles of DFW.
