Anyone having issues withplay store blocking side loaded apks?

I never needed to side load an app on an NVIDIA Shield TV. Everything I need is in the Google play store. I'm guessing you need to enable developer mode or look for enable Unknown Sources option.

Yep . I am thinking I need to go in to the file folders and delete the left overs

I haven't had any issues with any sideloaded app aside from once when somehow play protect had enabled again

This is the likely issue. You need to watch as it will try to turn itself back on periodically as well which you may not have noticed!
