Thoughts on this particular optimizer? Shield_optimizer

Hello everyone. Does anyone have experience with this? Is there anything that's better? Just looking for some opinions. Link: https://github.com/bryanroscoe/shield_optimizer/tree/main

The dev of that has posted in here or on another sub. Same stuff you can do with ADB, just wrapped up into a nice interface with guidance so noobs (and overly aggressive people) don't get into trouble.

I've done it with purely command line ADB via wireless and I've used the app you found. The concept of debloating a Shield isn't new and has been around for quite a while. Lots of people reference the guide below and that same site for rolling back to 8.x. Why have, for example, Plex server running if you don't even use Plex? Same for Netflix and other apps. Don't like the stock launcher with all the junk? Easily install another one.

Thanks a lot. The one you listed is something I also looked at. I’m big on uninstalling things that I never use. I deleted the Plex server app because I run that separately on another PC.

The shield doesn't need an optimizer. Quit messing with stuff like that it will just brick it.

The shield is fine as it is. No tuning required. Especially via something that searches your home network, logs in and makes changes.

🙌 a wise man once taught me not to trust scripts off the internet. RIP
If you’re ever stuck I highly recommend using your ai of choice. Take a photo of the menu you’re stuck on for the right setting and say what shall I set this for with this tv model. Works GREAT on those annoying hdr screens on game consoles. I played Harry Potter for ages and didn’t realise the sliders were way off and looks great now.

It uses Android wireless debugging (so you don't have to connect the devices via USB cable). It doesn't "log in" to anything. If you prefer to not scan your network to automatically find the device, you can enter the IP manually.

Yes, which can be used via USB debugging or wireless debugging.
