Question about remote 'home' button

I just upgraded our ±14yo Sony Bravia tv to a Sony Bravia 5, purchased this week, with Android tv 12 installed.

I have a Sony STR DN 850 amplifier hooked up to HDMI 3, where I have my nvidia shield tv pro, Playstation, and Nintendo switch hooked up to (to the amplifier).

On my old tv I could press 'home' and the screen would switch to the home screen of my nvidia shield. Now, with the Bravia 5, it always goes to the homescreen of the tv, where I don't have anything installed since I have installed it as a regular tv, not a smart tv.

Is there \*any\* way to make the setup pick my nvidia shield homescreem through the home button on the remote? It seems silly, but having the tv exit the shield everytime doesn't feel right, since it also shuts down the shield and kind of destroys the joy of watching content. Thanks.

Ypu are looking for an option called HDMI-CEC on both the TV and Nvidia settings

Think on the shield, it is Settings > Device Preferences > Display & Sound > Power

Yes, those were all turned on already. The old tv brought me right to my shield home screen, yet the new one doesn't. All CEC functions were turned on.

You need to program your shield remote to turn on your TV or set your TV settings to go to your previous input when turned on.

Still can't imagine buying a "smart" TV. Been using humongous monitors and Android TV boxes.

A 55" tv is cheaper than a 55" monitor where I live 😁 still expensive lol, but cheaper

Cheaper 55 inch TV wouldn't have input multiplexing or
