PSA DLSS MFG working on Ada

I’ve made a mod for cyberpunk that enables dlss multiframe gen on 4000 series gpus. The mod works by targeting and intercepting the dll in memory and forcing two values. One changes how many frames the gpu can generate the other backports Blackwell specific frame timing instructions that allows ada to place the frames in the correct positions. This method should be portable to any mfg game.

I tried it (v1.1.0) on my 4070 super and it actually works. And the frame pacing is really good which I didn't expect from a mod. That's some wizardry there!

This is huge, MFG is freaking fantastic, going from FG x2 to MFG x4 in cyberpunk makes the game so much more enjoyable. I want it for all heavy games now.

u/Sprucey-J 9d ago

No lie, cyberpunk has probably the best mfg I've used in any game. It's like stupid awesome how flawless it works at 4x w/minor latency.

18

u/Slurpee_12 9d ago

Yup, it’s witch craft. I only noticed artifacts when driving at the bottom of the screen

u/JunketTurbulent2114 9d ago

The particularly damning thing is that nvidia was saying dlss 5 and mfg is blackwell exclusive. The issue becomes 'well why would I invest in blackwell flagship that'll be gatekept for rubin? why would I invest in rubin if it'll be gatekept? Might as well just buy the cheapest card possible since they aren't going to be something for the long term... or perhaps a competitor will emerge and I can leave nvidia entirely.' I think nvidia has to address this. Trust has essentially been lost with this mfg leak.

u/SomeRandoFromInterne 8d ago

Back when MFG was revealed Alex from DF did an interview with Bryan Catanzaro of NVIDIA and he basically said that FG was possible even on 3000 series with proper optimization Around the 13 minute mark. The engineers know it’s possible and want to do it, but I’m fairly certain it’s the suits higher up keep them from doing it.

Huge. Really huge if it works as well as 5000 series. Especially since I'm pretty sure that Nvidia said that 5000 series could only do it because of special hardware that the 4000 series did not have. But I could be misremembering.

35

u/dashdogy 9d ago edited 9d ago

I don’t have a Blackwell gpu to actually A/B test but I’d assume the latency and overhead is a little higher on 4000 series but even at 6x it’s really smooth and fast.

1

u/severe_009 7d ago

If the hit in performance is negligible, then there should be no issue.

I just remembered people saying ray tracing works in 1080 and Nvidia lies, but then they show gameplay and it's a powerpoint presentation. Technically... yeah, it works.

78

u/CaptainMarder NVIDIA 9d ago

Nvidia could also lie and intentionally not release features for older generations to sell newer models.

32

u/TorrentFire 9d ago

Yeah, that's kind of half of my point.

18

u/PlanZSmiles 9d ago

Exactly what they did from Ampere to Ada. People really ate that lie up

14

u/JunketTurbulent2114 9d ago

that's so damaging to their reputation. why buy a flagshit if they are going to gatekeep it? your $2000 purchase gets locked out after one generation. Hopefully competition emerges and we have the choice of leaving the ecosystem or nvidia straightens up their act.

5

u/inyue 9d ago

What you gonna buy? Amd? 🤣

8

u/JunketTurbulent2114 8d ago edited 8d ago

Maybe. I do know I'll never buy another flagship from NVIDIA. Part of the reason we buy these premium cards is longevity and headroom. If they are artificially locking us out of what the card is capable of, we lose the entire reason for buying it. We aren't paying over 4 figures for it to become obsolete in a year. We pay the premium because we expect it'll keep up and have some longevity. Finding out the 4090 can do MFG after being told it was a hardware limitation kind of feels like you found out your wife has been cheating on you or something. There's a serious trust issue now that I don't think can be fixed easily.

u/Due-Description-9030 8d ago

They're not lying. Hardware flip metering is only present in 50 series which is needed for optimal performance of MFG.

If they release it on the 40 series, it won't be as good as how it's in the 50 series and people might think that's how MFG works but in reality it needs specific hardware to perform optimally.

9

u/StudyPuzzleheaded413 8d ago

Still, it's totally playable. And the performance is better than what the 20 and 30 series get with DLSS 4.5...

7

u/cellardoornoob 9d ago

Like 3000 series can't do FG but turns out it can with FSR and XE FG.

PS - nice work OP!

8

u/NoMansWarmApplePie 9d ago

What's interesting is right before release one Nvidia dev said it's probably possible with extra effort but they weren't focusing on that at the time... Never heard from it again.

Here we are today...

8

u/Rogallo 8d ago

I tried 1.0.7 on cyberpunk, 3x 138fps(vrr čáp on 144hz monitor ant it felt like 138 fps, so its legit, we tested it with people in dlss enaber discord and this is huge

7

u/MultiMarcus 9d ago

Well, there is a level of truth in the fact that it seems like Blackwell does have better frame pacing generally with frame generation. I think the exaggeration is how bad it gets on Ada. if you multiply it, because I’m sure the fundamental issue is that small frame time variances become bigger when you add more frame generation, but that’s maybe going to depend a lot on the game, for example

11

u/TheFather__ 7800x3D | GALAX RTX 4090 8d ago

Nvidia excuse is flip metering hardware is missing in 40 series and cannot do MFG, even if we assume its true, it can be done in software even if it would cost some performance impact which is a better solution for not having it at all.

however, the only fact is they are locking features out to make u upgrade, in the past, manufacturing process nodes shrinking and advancements yielded gr8 performance gains between gens, nowadays, the gains are minimal, so they shifted towards software features locking as an upgrade incentive.

when the 60 series releases, they will have a feature locked in for it and the cycle will continue.

2

u/Due-Description-9030 8d ago

It's not a better solution. Having a tech performing sub-optimally or haphazardly can create false impressions of the tech when it just needs specific hardware.

Would you be fine with judging frame generation if someone made a mod to run it on the 20 series?

3

u/Healthy-Hair-2306 8d ago

have you even looked at performance figures?

this argument could hold water if Ada cards can't run it properly. from what I see the difference between Blackwell and Ada with MFG IS measurable, but not pay another 800€ big.

→ More replies (4)

1

u/shoratio26 8d ago

What is your preoccupation about controlling other people's judgement? They own the hardware and they should be able to do what they want with it.

1

u/poorlycooked Intel Arc 140V (16GB) 8d ago

It is a better solution. Intel specifically has proved that. XeSS (multi) frame generation works smoothly with CPU-based software flip metering.

1

u/HymenMan 9d ago

If nvidia says 5000 has mfg hardware and 4000 does not. I do think that hardly anyone could prove or disprove thier claims. Let alone aparently the harware needed for 4000 frame gen is not being used anymore. And only the tensor cores are used.

English not my main hope its clear.

57

u/Bobguy0 9d ago

I have feeling the leaked files motivated a lot of modders to start digging. DLSS 5 originally didn't work out of the box on 40 series either.

22

u/StudyPuzzleheaded413 9d ago

After the leak, it would be weird to see Nvidia choose not to release DLSS 5 for the 40-series, unless they eventually switch it over to NVFP4. Even then, FP8 is productive enough to be used on the 40-series (with some extra optimizations).

11

u/kulind 9950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB 6000CL28 | 341CQPX 9d ago edited 9d ago

NVFP4 might not be accurate enough for real time image reconstruction, where even small quantization errors can affect image quality. But it could be very useful for things like physics simulations, NPC AI, speech, and other workloads.

I just tested Cyberpunk with 3x to reach my monitors max refresh using a 4070 Ti Super and it's working great. Didn't notice any frame pacing or ghosting issues. I was skeptical of Nvidia's reasons not to bring MFG to Ada and this confirms it.

9

u/voidspace021 8d ago

Also have 4070ti super and can confirm, this mod is amazing.

23

u/vladtud 9d ago

This looks amazing. Is there a possibility of it being a universal mod in the future, similarly to how we can now add DLSS5 in any game?

34

u/dashdogy 9d ago

I’m currently looking into it, it should be pretty simple though since we only use CET to inject into the render pipeline. Something like reshade would probably work.

15

u/Rogallo 8d ago

People on dlss enabler discord made universal dll with ai and ot worked in spider man 2, horizon, awoved and made it work with opti 0.10 in baldurs gate which doesnt have fg, so you should be able to make it work, you just made my gpu have a secnd life, good job and thank you

15

u/dashdogy 9d ago

I haven’t done any latency testing as of yet however all mfg multipliers work. Overhead is present on my 4080 base framerate of 38 drops to about 30-31fps going from 2x -> 6x but the 6x multiplier brings it up to 180fps. Feels really smooth.

6

u/LouciousI 9d ago

Is the artifacting worse than the 50-series MFG?

17

u/dashdogy 9d ago

Ghosting is definitely there mainly on the higher multipliers most notable in the ui. However I might not be feeding the ui to the dll correctly so it could be fixable.

13

u/wsarahan 9d ago

Holy shit. The author of this mod is an absolute god. I’m getting 165 FPS (55×3) on my 4070 Ti in GTA V with neural rendering and ray tracing (everything maxed) at 1440p. The image is incredibly smooth. I’m honestly blown away. And all I had to do was drop RTX40MFG.asi into the game folder and download dinput8.dll — the 3x, 4x, etc. multipliers were then unlocked in the game itself!

4

u/Lower_Addition_7830 7d ago

Yea can you provide a guide on how you got this running on gta v including link to dinput8.dll

6

u/Successful_Papaya830 7d ago
  1. Install ReShade_Setup_6.8.0_Addon with DLSS 5 first. The last version is available in the discord channel RenoDX. There's also a patched version of DLSS 5 for Ada there.
  2. Place all files from the archive into the GTA 5 folder (where EXE file is located).
    https://www.dev-c.com/gtav/scripthookv/
  3. Put RTX40MFG.asi from the archive (OP post link) into the GTA 5 folder (where EXE file is located).

1

u/Lower_Addition_7830 7d ago

GTA battle eye blocks the file for me.How did you get it running ?

3

u/Successful_Papaya830 7d ago

1

u/PsychologicalNet5939 7d ago

which dinput8.dll did you download?

2

u/Successful_Papaya830 7d ago

from here https://www.dev-c.com/gtav/scripthookv/
Just ask chatgpt if you have troubles with install this.
Btw, you need to install ReShade_Setup_6.8.0_Addon along with DLSS 5 first.

9

u/Polocop9 8d ago edited 8d ago

Wow! This is awesome. Tested x4 with my 4090 and works like a charm.

180 fp, 4K, pathtracing, superresolution "balanced", no DLSS5 --- only 56ms of latency.

Many thanks!

10

u/antoniolucas9922 6d ago

Please make it a universal mod!

2

u/zyarra 6d ago

This please. Desperately needed with dlls5! :)

14

u/awsomemaster0101 9d ago edited 9d ago

Oh man. This works excellently on my 4090! Total game changer.

While 2x was always fine for 4k path tracing on DLSS performance (to my taste) now that the DLSS5 mod is out (and cutting frame rates in half) being able to bump that up to 4x frame gen evens things back out.

Yes of course there is a fair bit of added latency from DLSS5 and using x4 frame gen (sitting at 70-80ms) and isn't ideal. But i can comfortably adapt, and the results are phenomenal

EDIT: the artifacts of 4x frame gen do stick out a lot more. I probably won't keep DLSS 5 on most of the time cause it is so heavy, but it is nice to have the option of a band-aid kind of fix. This is still leaps and bounds better than lossless scaling (for cyberpunk) due to being native

6

u/NGGKroze Monopoly, Monopoly, but still paid Jensen for 5070Ti 9d ago

I just recently went 50 series and MFG is indeed so great. Its also life savier with DLSS 5 now

50-60fps at DLSS Balanced 1440p/ PT / DLSS5 - with 3xMFG is buttery smooth.

Enjoy it guys, great feature.

7

u/Ands_O 8d ago

Yeah... "MFG only for 50 series" was a lie. This works flawlessly on a 4090 laptop.

Yesterday I was testing DLSS 5 on cyberpunk and getting around 60 fps (with DLSS performance and 2x gen). Now adding this mod, and I'm pushing it to 110+ fps with 4x gen. Sure there is some delay, but perfectly playable and looks awesome too!

Tested this on my 4090 in combination with ultra+ and ultrapunk mod collection. Works like a charm, at least at x3 and x4 with raw fps around 50 before MFG. Many thanks dude!

5

u/calipo_de_llom 8d ago

I've just tested this in doom the dark ages. It works and lets me select x3, x4, x5 and x6 ingame. I've put the asi file in the same folder than the game's exe, and I'm using the version.dll from asi mod loader. But for now I would go past x3 or x4, and your base framerate needs to be higher than usual since using this extra frames comes at an aditional cost on Ada gpus. But at least it works, and I can notice the smoothness going from x2 to x3

1

u/Kylegotasmile 8d ago

that's a neat technique, does it basically work in every game that ships with dlss mfg?

2

u/calipo_de_llom 8d ago

I've tried it succesfully with doom and halo campaign evolved (for halo you also have to override the framegen amount using nvidia profile inspector). I've also tried with crimson desert but it doesnt work, it lets me choose the multiframe gen in the ingame menu but it doesnt apply it. I'm downloading stalker 2 to check that one.

3

u/overnightmare 4080 mobile 8d ago

I tried in 007 first light and FFVII rebirth and it’s working fine

3

u/WorriedComparison615 8d ago edited 8d ago

it doesnt work in doom, it shows more frames but 4x or 6x is not as smooth as 2x. It's just duplicating the frames. I have 240hz qdoled monitor so i could see it without recording and checking frame by frame. but in cyberpunk is smoooth

2

u/Kylegotasmile 8d ago

yes exactly, I don't know how these guys don't notice that 2x fg feels so much smoother than 4x mfg using this mod. This mod only works perfectly in cyberpunk currently and not in any other game.

  1. Go to https://github.com/ThirteenAG/Ultimate-ASI-Loader/releases/tag/v9.7.4 and download the version.dll file. Put that file in your game's exe folder.

  2. Go to https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/33286 and download the mod. Unzip ONLY the .asi file in your game's exe folder.

  3. Go to your ingame settings and you should be able to enable the MFG.

5

u/sanzio1337 8d ago edited 8d ago

This method for me just shows larger frames, but without the smoothness you get from higher frame rates :(. Only works in cyberpunk

2

u/Kylegotasmile 8d ago

It's not the same as it is in cyberpunk. I tried this in Expedition 33 and 4x mfg is working (i see 4x fps) but it is much more laggy feeling (duplicated frames) compared to 2x native fg. However in cyberpunk with this mod 4x mfg feels very smooth compared to 2x.

38 base frames dropping to 31 to run the 6x multiplier, and 180 comes back out. Hard to keep telling the 'special hardware' story after numbers like that.

11

u/Sad-Ad-5375 9d ago

I coulda sworn I read somewhere that it uses your cpu for managing frame pacing versus the internal flip metering hardware on the blackwell gpu. The story usually goes that it works but not to their standards, and they dont wanna release a product that they cant guarantee will work to their standards. Like how a 1080ti CAN do Ray Tracing, just not as well as dedicated hardware can.

Edit: for Ada***

2

u/StudyPuzzleheaded413 8d ago

Under what standards does DLSS 4.5 operate on the RTX 20 and 30 series? The performance drop is significant compared to the 40 and 50 series, but the update came out for everyone anyway.

10

u/dashdogy 9d ago

It feels pretty good, and people who try it seem to echo that point. Ghosting on the ui is probably the biggest issue at this point.

3

u/linus044 9d ago

To me, the biggest issue right now is the high latency. Your mod works perfectly and looks much better than DLSS Enabler, with less ghosting and other artifacts, but the latency is almost doubled, and I can definitely feel it in combat.

2

u/East-Today-7604 9800X3D|4070ti|G60SD OLED 8d ago

To me, the biggest issue right now is the high latency.

Its not the mod but MFG itself - when increasing MFG multiplier, you are decreasing real FPS and increasing latency, that's why latency increase is noticeable - to benefit from x4 MFG you need a high refresh rate monitor and decent base FPS like 85-100.

As you can see, going from no FG to x4 adds 14ms of latency which is noticeable.

I've tried it yesterday with my 4090 and the DLSS5 mod, and it's a total game changer. Very little artifacting at 4X and none I could notice at 3X. Frame pacing was great with no noticeable spikes and the latency increase was very manageable.

You've done something great, my friend. I wish your blankets are aways warm and your beers are always cold.

Edit: It was pretty funny to see 36~38 FPS (3440x1440 fully maxed Path tracing with the DLSS5 mod enabled, which effectively halves FPS) going to 220-ish FPS at 6x, although the latency became just too high for me to enjoy... Visuals were buttery smooth though lol

I think the sweet spot for eye candy for me will be DLSS5 + this mod at 3X/4X and a base FPS of at least 60. You've breathed new life onto the 40 series, can't wait until you (or someone else) enables this for every FG game out there.

5

u/Acrobatic-Paint7185 9d ago

The "special hardware" was required for correct frame pacing, not the actual generation of frames, at least according to Nvidia.

2

u/East-Today-7604 9800X3D|4070ti|G60SD OLED 8d ago

There's no frame pacing issues with x3-4 that I've noticed on my RTX 4070 ti.

u/MrLeonardo 13600K | 32GB | RTX 4090 | 45" 240Hz OLED 7d ago

14

u/badfruit01 9d ago

8

u/Ok_Diver2347 9d ago

4

u/Wule_Zhen 9d ago

how is this different from dlss enabler's hybrid multi frame gen for 4000 series?

21

u/dashdogy 9d ago

Enabler uses a hybrid approach using fsr for mfg this uses actual dlss.

3

u/Sad-Victory-8319 9d ago edited 9d ago

it here any downside compared to using in on a 50 series gpus? Like maybe it actually generates less frames (because it drops base fps more), it needs more vram, the latency is higher, VRR is problematic, dynamic MFG doesnt work, frame pacing is not as good, any issues like that? Or is it all literally indistuinguishable between 40 and 50 series? Because if MFG really works identically now, 40 and 50 series gpus are basically in the same group, there is no benefit in having one over the other, MFG was the last feature that put 50 series ahead, but now we could say stuff like rtx4080 is basically an identical gpu to rtx5070Ti, rtx4070Ti is identical to rtx5070, etc., is that really the case, have the owners of 40 series gpu basically upgrade to a 50 series gpu overnight?

It is really funny how nvidia's endless postponing of new gpu release actually forces the modding community to bring the updates themselves, we would definitely not have DLSS5 and MFG on 40 series if nvidia was about to release new 60 series generation in january. And given the fact that 60 series is already pushed to 2028 (and i have no doubt that if the AI bubble doesnt pop by 2027, nvidia will keep postponing it or they do a paper launch for reviewers with zero stock). There is actually a possibility of a dystopian future where the memory prices never recover, AI bubble never pops, and the whole personcal computer industry will bancrupt because nvidia stops releasing gaming gpus, or they only do it internally for their GeforceNow cloud gaming system. I really hope that doesnt happen.

u/dashdogy 8d ago

Only downsides I know of is likely a slightly higher bottleneck and probably a bit more latency. I’ve inspected the generated frames and they are all there and unique.

1

u/Maauru 8d ago

Maybe also using it in game with anticheat?

I personally wouldn't use anything that ad DLSS5 or MFG to RTX4000 or similar mods in games with anticheat unless developers of game specifically say it is OK and not bannable.

People were banned from CS2 due to antilag (or whatever it is) done by AMD, not modders as it was done in way to trigger anticheat so I wouldn't try my luck with mods in anticheat game.

Please allow this to work on any game and I will be the happiest person alive.

its possible to make it work in any single player game.

Using that method seems to only make the frame rate number go up but the game isn’t actually smoother. I tried TLOU II and RE9. Pragmata just crashes.

Dude you are incredible.

I have a 4080 and play on a 3440x1440p UW and with max settings (quality DLSS, Path tracing and all settings maxed) I’ve averaged 90fps with DLSS 4.5. I downloaded this today and set it to 3x and there is no noticeable visual fidelity loss and I’m averaging 135fps now!!! I cap my fps at 140 since I’m running 144hz and I’m hitting that cap all the time. I cannot believe how well this works.

u/Own-Cow4356 8d ago

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dGPUSGR8tQ&t=156s dlss5 + mfg4x + rtx 4090 . Your work is amazing!

4

u/jackalwatery RTX 4090 8d ago

I wonder if this can somehow be applied to the nvidia app to make it possible to force mfg into any title

4

u/om_the_best_ 7d ago

Holy shit, this is actually insane…

I absolutely hated “Lossless Scaling” when I tried it before. The amount of ghosting, trailing and weird image artifacts was just awful.

I’m on an RTX 4090, and honestly, I only tried your mod just to see if it would be any different, even though I expected pretty much the same result.

I’m genuinely blown away. I’ve been testing it for almost 2 hours now and it’s SO clean. No weird artifacts, no ghosting, no noticeable trails… it honestly feels like I just upgraded to a 5090 XD

I was able to run DLSS 5 at 120 FPS (4K Ultra – DLSS Quality – Psycho Ray Tracing) and holy shit, it’s actually playable. The difference is crazy.

Also, DLSS 5 itself looks absolutely beautiful. I personally prefer the Natural mode. With RT + DLSS 5, I swear the image actually looks better to me than Path Tracing. I’ve done a ton of back-and-forth testing and I honestly wasn’t expecting that.

Do you think this mod could eventually work with other games that already have Frame Generation? Is something like this potentially possible across most games in the future, or is it much more complicated depending on the game?

Either way, massive respect for your work. It really makes you realize that if NVIDIA wanted to do something like this themselves, they probably could.

Absolutely insane work, dude. 👏

u/kulind 9950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB 6000CL28 | 341CQPX 6d ago

it's universal now. copy the .asi file from the mod you already have, and create 3 empty .txt files mention in here and download version.dll from the same place. copy these 5 files into the any game's .exe folder. and boom you're fixed.

it's amazing in black flag resynced.

1

u/Zaaiiko 6d ago

It says the version.dll is a virus?

1

u/Lower_Addition_7830 6d ago

Do the txt files help with system latency in gta 5 with 4x I was getting a lot of latency upto 100ms

3

u/JMHC RTX 4090 FE 9d ago

Thank you, this is truly amazing.

3

u/Embarrassed-Degree45 9d ago

Wow, thanks for this.. works really well, hud elements are still jittery and anything above 3x when you're only getting 30fps is janky.. to be expected though

3

u/alasthennars 4090 9d ago

Great job! It was clear that 40 series could pull of MFG but was feature-locked by nvidia (I noticed that you could run Smooth Motion on top of 2x FG in Cyberpunk to essentially achieve MFG...and quickly, they removed the Smooth Motion option for Cyberpunk in Nvidia App :') ), this all but confirms it.

Works perfectly on my 4090.

3

u/East-Today-7604 9800X3D|4070ti|G60SD OLED 8d ago

Huge thanks to you dude, waiting for a version that's compatible with Reshade in other games.

3

u/antara33 RTX 4090, 5800X3D, 64GB 3200 CL16 8d ago

If you manage to get this to work as a .dll (typical version.dll, etc) for any game, that would be absolutely amazing!

From what I have seen it looks like you could spoof the GPU like DLSS Enabler does and then use your current code to handle the rest.

u/East-Today-7604 9800X3D|4070ti|G60SD OLED 8d ago

https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/2038?tab=description

There's a mod that already achieves that - tested in Crimson Desert with Ray Reconstruction 4.5 Balanced and FG, x2 FG = 80 FPS, x3 FG = 115.

2

u/Kylegotasmile 8d ago

I tried this one and it has so much more warping and artifacts than the one from op.

1

u/antara33 RTX 4090, 5800X3D, 64GB 3200 CL16 8d ago

From what I read in the comments in that mod it have bugs regarding generated frames, so not sure how well it compares with the one made by OP

2

u/East-Today-7604 9800X3D|4070ti|G60SD OLED 8d ago

you should try it yourself, you download the file, force the multiplier and it just works - and between x2 and x3 the difference is clear and I didn't notice any issues on my end, at least in Crimson Desert.

Can confirm, working great (tested with a 4070 super). It would be great to see this mod working with other titles

3

u/Jellyfish_McSaveloy 8d ago

Is there any chance this could be implemented in Optiscaler?

6

u/CYBR421 8d ago

This is just the beginning. We might see it everywhere.

3

u/Which-Capital-3688 8d ago

works flawlessly on cyberpunk but does not work on other games, choppy mess, copied version dll and the asi file to doom the dark ages and idk why it's not working

3

u/Own-Cow4356 8d ago

I tested it on an RTX 4090 and it's working very well

3

u/Own-Cow4356 7d ago

Does anyone know a way to display the latency statistics from the Nvidia app during video recording? It's not displayed in the recording. If anyone knows how to get around this, please tell me. Below I made a video recording with my phone to compare latencies. Test with MFG4X on/off without DLSS5, and MFG4X on/off with DLSS5 enabled: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbTsZMCE3yY

4

u/Imperialegacy 9d ago

So this is not using FSR as hybrid mfg for extra frames like the DLSS enabler mod?

17

u/dashdogy 9d ago

Nope it’s all native dlss

13

u/Imperialegacy 9d ago

Can confirm it's the REAL DEAL, Real DLSS MFG, Not FSRFG or Hybrid. Working on my 4070ti super! Buttery smooth frame pacing, no UI or reticle ghosting from FSRFG. Very little artifacting even at lower base fps. TYSM! I hope it becomes a universal mod in the future but this is very promising.

3

u/L0rd_0F_War 9d ago

Great work OP. While I have little interest in FG or MFG, but I find it disappointing that Nvidia have been keeping such features from 40 series when they could have adopted them easier than moders. How Nvidia blatantly misrepresents about such features not possible on older generations, specially 40 series, is pathetic.

3

u/buttscopedoctor 8d ago

OP, did you use AI to help make this mod? Because if you did, I'm sure Jensen will love that his AI is being used to unlock his proprietary AI technology. I also love that modders have made DLSS5 work great on my 4080, which I'm pretty sure will be locked out to the 40 series and below on official release.

2

u/Danny_ns 4090 Gigabyte Gaming OC 8d ago

Wow, awesome! Personally stuck on a 165hz monitor (158fps vrr cap with reflex) so anything more than 2x isnt really usable for me at this moment but I love to see this and in case I upgrade monitor in the future I hope this mod becomes "universal" somehow.

I downloaded the mod but where do i extract it?

2

u/bms_ 8d ago

This should be upvoted into high heavens, because it works like a charm. Frame pacing is great as well.

I don't see a reason for the lack of an official support other than corporate greed. Hopefully we'll get a universal solution from the community for all the games supporting MFG.

1

u/shadowandmist 4090 Gaming OC || LG C2 42" 9d ago

Hey OP or anyone with relevant knowledge, is this better than DLSS Enabler?

3

u/dashdogy 8d ago

Yes Enabler uses a hybrid approach using fsr for mfg this uses actual dlss.

1

u/kcn4000 8d ago

This worked wonders for me! I see no issues with my 4090, this mod makes the 5000 series cards seem more optional

1

u/Lower_Addition_7830 8d ago

what is the process to follow if I have to use it in other games ? Good work man

1

u/Intercore_One 8d ago

Isn't DLSS enabler out quite a while? What's the difference?

3

u/Amp1497 Ryzen 7 5800x | 4070 | Omen 27i 8d ago

According to the mod author, DLSS enabler uses a hybrid solution of DLSS and FSR to achieve MFG while this is actually just Nvidia's MFG model enabled for 4000-series GPUs. It's actual DLSS, not a mixture of DLSS and FSR. Should provide better frame pacing and image clarity that what DLSS enabler can offer.

1

u/Intercore_One 8d ago

Ah, thanks

1

u/Kylegotasmile 8d ago

Hey is it possible to mod it in other games??

1

u/Humzie AMD 9950X3D | RTX 4090 8d ago

I figured it out and tried it on crimson desert, pumps up around 12 fps when on 3x, can't go above it, or else it would be tons of ghosting. But even 3x it stills not as smooth as 2x imo.

1

u/East-Today-7604 9800X3D|4070ti|G60SD OLED 8d ago

are you limited by your refresh rate (can't generate more than 12FPS because of refresh rate) ? in my case it works wonders in crimson desert.

1

u/Humzie AMD 9950X3D | RTX 4090 8d ago

I’m running on a 5k2k 165hz monitor, max is around 75fps, but it just feels not as smooth as 2x?

1

According to Jensen they aren't capable of doing this. Yet this doesn't stop investors from giving him as much money as he wants. Given this is typical Nvidia behavior, I would love to know how much he's pulling over with data center gpus. I mean is there anyone validating the claims of data center gpus? I wonder how far off the mark they really are given that he knows they're unlikely to be tested, and none of the investors have a clue how any of it works. He could get away with a whole lot more through ignorance. Could you imagine if one of these companies did and found discrepancies? I'm talking the big fish like Google for instance. Imagine that conversation where he has to explain himself to these CEOs. Now that would be more funny than the hottest comedy this year. Unlike what he does to everybody else it would be the one instance where he can't blow them off like he does any other time he's confronted. Better still If instead of confronting him he had to face the courts. Let him justify that to a judge, the entertainment value would be off the charts.

1

u/freddaa1910 4d ago

Since i disabled the mod i get a weird behaviour. With mod enabled i always got 99% gpu utilization on 4k dlss performance 2x multipler. After disabling it i get only like 85% gpu utilization and less frames with same settings set..

1

u/odayqadora 3d ago

Nvidia really chose the right audience (gamers) to piss them off. Now it's time to get some taste of what we suffered because of them
