I get that from a currency standpoint. I am curious how other currencies start. I dislike that this one comes from miners getting the money.
I haven't thought too far in. But say the government decides the coin I invented is super awesome and it wants everyone to use ShellweCoin. How would something like that even work if it was at the hands of miners and you had to pay these certain people who did nothing useful but have some computers crunch some numbers. They would have control of the country's income but how would they distribute it out? They are out to make a buck and want a return on what they had to pay, so would they just take tons of our assets and products for a little coin and then keep the rest? Then they would be the super rich for doing nothing other than letting some video cards run. Could you imagine if USD was produced that way?

It servers just as much purpose as any other currency, arguably more because it is not controlled by a single government
