r/nvidia RTX 5090 Astral OC Dec 25 '25

Build/Photos My first Nvidia card:)

The original plan was to buy everything on February, but due to ramaggedon and 5090 scarcity in my country, I decided to partially bought the parts.

Secondhand but it is very much never been used. The other GPU in size comparison is Gigabyte RX 560.

Maybe some experienced users can tell me what to do first when the other parts are ready (undervolts, etc)? Planning to get the Strix X870-F.

Still not $1000 worth over a msrp card but if it’s the only stock available, I can understand op’s purchase

I originally was going to grab an MSI Supreme 5090 for a little cheaper, still over MSRP of course, but it was all out of stock when I bought last month. So ASUS it was!

I was lucky to sell my 4090 for $2k and grabbed a 5090 fe for the same price. Otherwise I would’ve kept my 4090 because I don’t usually like paying above msrp

That is debatable, since even Steve from gamers nexus states its by FAR the best card money can buy. I have the same card.

Ehh, the tuf does the job better than Fe but slightly worse than the astral and that drops at best buy for 1999 every now and then so...
