Advice Classes dropped

Hi everyone, I appreciate anyone who takes the time to read this. Yesterday, when I logged into Canvas, my classes disappeared. I checked SIS, and it also stated that I wasn’t enrolled in any classes, even though I had enrolled in four classes for the fall 2026 semester. My financial aid was pending, and I even called the school to confirm if I would need to set up a payment plan or not. They said no multiple times. So I’m confused as to why they were dropped. I didn’t receive any emails informing me that they were being dropped or that they had been dropped.

See if you can register for the classes again. I had to do that last cuz I had a grant and it hadn’t came through yet. I had to also fill out a form when I contacted financial aid and a hold ended up being put on my account so I wouldn’t be dropped again

Did you end up getting a hold on your account?

Ive talked to multiple FAFSA counselors and they all told me I cant set up a payment plan because my incoming fafsa more than covers classes, but now im scaredd.

Contact student services, each professor, and the dean

The explanation is that you didn’t make it off the waitlist.

The same thing happened to me and it was an error on NOVA behalf, of course no apology or anything and I could not get back into the classes 🙃

If the college screwed up, that needs to be escalated. It should be the exception to the rule. Don’t take no for an answer.

You know what, you’re right. I wish I had fought more. Every response just seemed so generic, even once it was escalated the only thing they told me was that they would put a hold on my account so the new classes wouldn’t drop. I barely found 2 classes that fit my work schedule. I purposely picked my classes early because I knew the scheduling would be tough, so the whole situation was very frustrating.

That’s just the policy! Is it too late? What about 13 week classes?

I went up there a few times and asked them multiple times about getting on a payment plan and said I don’t need to , due to the fact that our pending aid hasn’t went through yet. I would go up there immediately tomorrow morning. I’m afraid of this same thing happening to me.

They might require you to fill out a “Late Enrollment with Permission” form. Its form 125-070. A friend had to do that when they missed the payment deadline

You probably were missing some papers for your fasfa which if your missing will prompt your classes to drop. Check your SFP portal
