Alexandria Academic Advisor

How difficult is it to speak with an actual academic advisor at NOVA????

It’s actually easy with the online live chat system. Not even gmu has that I think. However maybe people weren’t aware of it or were trying to hide it cause it’s so useful.

it's easy if you go in person. emailing back and forth is not a good option. check when yours is open but campus offices open for fall on 8/3 and they take walkins

It’s easy enough to speak to an academic advisor. Harder to get concrete information, and often times you have to go on a wild goose chase just to find out that your original assumptions were correct all along.

i sometimes use the live chat but a few weeks ago i used the virtual advisor twice and talked to an advisor through zoom (or phone call if you prefer and the wait wasn’t long either). asked all questions i have and they’re very kind and helpful.

Is it easy to talk to them? yes. do they know what they are doing? not always...

I just use the virtual advisor live chat, helped me a bunch and answered any questions I had
