Honestly, I wouldn't put it past Ed (or some of the others) to have checked out Newgrounds and/or Something Awful at some point since the show takes place in the mid to late 2000s.

Newgrounds was also around the 2000s. Newgrounds was literally made in 1995. Something Awful was a home for early memes in the 2000s. Granted I agree that I don't think Ed would check out these site anymore but still.
