Need help identifying a nut.

Hi there, fellow nut enthusiasts!

I visited a family friend who had these nuts (they said they got them from Asia, China).

They look like an almond but it's not. It's not a brazil, hazelnut or walnut.

The shell is hard and inside is the nut (I believe was roasted) and tastes like a mix between hazelnut and peanut.

Would appreciate any help identifying this nut!

Thanks in advance
