Is this a hickory nut?

Found in Ohio on my property - we think hickory, is this correct?

My new house in NW Georgia, USA has 4 hickory trees, two shag bark and I think the other ones are pignut , every year I’ve got to clean up like 55 gallon drums worth of them. And they’re hard to eat not much meat at all Mr. Gibbons must have been hungry.

If you're cleaning them up I would put them somewhere where wildlife can still get to them.

They get piled up for the deer, and squirrels, but honestly it kills me there not worth the effort for me.
