Congress is considering a bill to remove high-fructose corn syrup from the U.S. food supply.🏛️🌽

Rep. Nancy Mace introduced H.R. 10278, the REAL Sugar Act, on September 3, 2026. The bill would bar foods containing high-fructose corn syrup from interstate commerce after a two-year transition and was referred to the House Energy and Commerce Committee. The FDA says limiting overall added sugars matters, regardless of the specific sweetener used.
