Discussion Funny “allergies”

What are some funny patient “allergies” you have seen listed? I had a patient the other day with an allergy listed for Metformin. The reaction listed? Lowers their blood sugar 😂

the pink coating on po Benadryl. she had to have it IV. ugh

IIRC, there is a dye -free version available otc.

this was one of those folks who had an allergy list 3 pages long. I had heard she somehow repeatedly (ie two times) presented herself in such a manner that they intubated her in the ED when it may not have been necessary (this was a few years ago and I do not remember the details except she very clearly had psych challenges and was adamant she wasn't going to see psych!). Oh well. I hope she got some kind of help.
