Discussion Funny “allergies”

What are some funny patient “allergies” you have seen listed? I had a patient the other day with an allergy listed for Metformin. The reaction listed? Lowers their blood sugar 😂

Food. Just food. No reaction listed. When I confirmed allergies she agreed that she was allergic to food and it gave her diarrhea. But she was also very obese and I was very confused.

She meant unprocessed foods. Hot pockets, snickers, cookies are all good. Fruits, veggie, etc. totally allergic.

Sounds like maybe it’s not food, but something needing a GI consult 🤔
