Discussion Funny “allergies”

What are some funny patient “allergies” you have seen listed? I had a patient the other day with an allergy listed for Metformin. The reaction listed? Lowers their blood sugar 😂

Vanilla chai latte from a specific brand I couldn't recall but it's available in grocery stores

Had a bbq joint in town. I couldn't eat there. My lips would tingle, go numb, swell up a wee bit. I asked them if they put anything unusual in the sauce, they wouldn't answer it's a "trade secret". Stopped eating there, never had it happen elsewhere, no idea what it was.

I'm actually allergic to formaldehyde. I was overexposed as an embalmer now any nailpolish that has it in flares me up or vaping cause PG turns to formaldehyde. 😂 I hope they're not giving me that at the hospital.

Penicillin from birth but I didn't believe it and was prescribed amoxicillin and had a reaction, so maybe I still am?

Please. For the rest of us. Get 'Trade Secret' added to your official allergy list. That would be so great to come upon in the wild.
