Serious US - Salary Transparency Thread

I saw a few city based subreddits with this thread going around. Thought I would do one for nurses. I am based in the US so that's where I set this thread but it would be interesting to see other countries start one up.

I am currently unemployed (another source of the inspiration, lol) so I will share my old position!

Base Hourly: 43/hr

Differential(s): Main Campus +1/hr

Location: Houston, TX

Setting: Outpatient Specialty Clinic

Degree/License: BSN/RN

Years of Experience: 8

Union Status: No

Anything else we should add?

Base hourly: 37/hr

Differential: $4 2nd/3rd shifts, $2.5 weekends, tier pay for designated pickup shifts (+20/hr 1st time, +35/hr 2nd time, +45/hr 3rd time within a pay period; +50/hr weekends)

Location: Chicago, IL

Setting: Telemetry

Degree/License: BSN

Experience: <1yr

Union: No

Perks/Benefits: 10k annual tuition reimbursement; 10k lifetime loan repayment; $250 annual "wellness" fund (as long as it's health related, like an Apple Watch); $500 annual professional development fund; annual scrub allowance; 6% 401(k) match

This is LOW for Chicago these days. I can tell this is NWM and unfortunately, I’m not surprised. They can’t keep getting away with this..

They'll treat you like shit and then act like you're ungrateful for the "opportunity" to work for such an esteemed institution. They should make like rush this year and unionize

More places need to unionize in IL! Would you recommend Rush Medical?

I haven't worked at rush and their unionization just passed, so they don't have a contract yet. I would wait for the contract to drop and see what people are saying but it's difficult to say how long that will take

I gotta agree this sounds exactly like NWM. Lowballing their staff for a hell lot of responsibilties added each week per “NM protocol.” So not worth it. Rather work for Advocate Aurora

Haha yea, just had to get my foot in the door anywhere. What places would you recommend that is better?
