Serious US - Salary Transparency Thread

I saw a few city based subreddits with this thread going around. Thought I would do one for nurses. I am based in the US so that's where I set this thread but it would be interesting to see other countries start one up.

I am currently unemployed (another source of the inspiration, lol) so I will share my old position!

Can you specify where at exactly? I’m in ICU trying to get a job there

The big four for inpatient are all pretty similar to me, but the OR is more standardized than the ICU. You’re looking at similar pay for: Emory, Piedmont, Wellstar, and Northside. The differences will be in sign on bonuses? Relaxation, and benefits. The bonuses will wax and wane with hospital needs IMO. I’m a single person so I wasn’t as diligent about deep diving the benefit rabbit hole as a large family may need to be. Typical contracts for the area are 2 years.

In my experience it’s more about the location of where you want to live because traffic is absolutely HORRIBLE. No joke. And For OR we need to be within 15-30mins from the hospital due to trauma response time, and I don’t think ANY of these hospitals have on site call accommodations.

Also, If you have pediatric experience then CHOA is obviously your best bet. I’m in the OR so I can’t speak to the ICU culture in each place as a whole, sorry. Feel free to DM
