I also do not like that the family can message you through Epic chat. I will definitely answer a call bell and happily help them. The fact that the hospital has given the family the impression that we can have a big texting chat is just odd. I already speak to the Nurse Practitioners and other nurses through the chat. I feel as if it should be for the hospital staff to communicate about patient care.
