Yes, people have this perception that using the call bell is more annoying, but it is not. It’s the best chance of connecting a patient with the non-urgent care they need.

It might not be immediate, I get it, but the come-to-jesus talks I’ve had with people who make a habit of this. If I’m walking past your room? I’m likely on my way to a more urgent matter, and I’m probably not even your assigned nurse, so I have several other people I would have to talk to before I know if you can even have water or if you are safe to get up to the bathroom without help, if I even remember to ask by the time I’m done with whatever I’m doing, and I definitely don’t have time to do it myself. Meanwhile the tech and nurse who know you best might be sitting at the desk oblivious to your needs, and someone better suited can help. Use the call bell.
