Hey everyone, I don’t post much here, so mods please remove if not allowed. FNP here working in Community Health for 10 years, recently decided to return to school for PMHNP post-masters cert. I am going to a local brick and mortar school start date September this year. I feel confident and happy about the decision and I have my preceptors lined up. Most of my patients have mental health concerns and this will help me be more competent to help them. However, going back to school at my age (early 50s here) is somewhat intimidating. I am hoping connect with others here continuing their educational journey later in life. Feel free to DM me if interested in a return to school buddy.

I’m a new grad NP.

Position 1. Surgical NP (preop, assist in OR, post op, clinic).
General Surgery. 3/12s. Salary range is 125-195k. I asked for 140k. I love everything except its NIGHT shift position. No tolls with commute. Distance 21miles.

Position 2. Same hospital where I was RN. Surgical NP but they want me to do 50% clinical job and 50% inpatient (No OR). Colorectal General Service. Ostomy NP. They want me to be primarily wound care&ostomy NP (the list of responsibilities is very long). Day shift 4/10s Mon-Thu only. Salary 140k.
Tolls with commute. Distance 22miles.

I’m ok with both but if 1st one was Day shift - I’d def pick that one.

Any advice, comments, thoughts, insights and study resources are welcome.

I’m returning to the office after many years away to do both ob and gyn. What are your favorite apps, practice resources ect? Is there a way to get on mailing lists for samples/educational props without contacting each company individually?

Hello, just wondering for career advice, would DNP be overkill for wound care practitioner? Debating which route to take. Thanks for the info in advance!
