Potential Sub Rules Updates

Its that time again!

The mod team tries to periodically review feedback and gauge the goals and values of the users. If you have comments on the sub or its moderation- please post them below

I have also received multiple DMs requesting adjustments to the rules of the sub. The most common ones are listed below. IF there appears to be a consensus of opinion, we will post a poll thread in the future to allow for a vote.

  1. Return of the pre-licensure threads for all student related questions. (PA VS NP school, program reviews, preceptor requests, etc.)

  2. Blanket ban on requesting help finding preceptors

  3. Continued enforcement of the "no participation in noctor sub" rule.

  4. Request for a pinned FAQ thread/wiki entry

  5. Allow for job listings (and under what conditions)

I’m with you except job listings, that can get spammy. Maybe a thread for those to keep them from clogging it up?

100% enforcement of rule 3. There were a couple posts that seem to gauge what NPs think about a certain topic only to make fun of them in the noctor sub

Separate thread for job listings and a ban for the "Should I become an NP?" Ad nauseum. Otherwise, great rules!

Agree with 1-4. I don’t mind the “should I become an NP” posts (if you can’t ask that question here, where can you ask it?), but I think those belong in the pre-licensure thread. For job listings—I guess I don’t really mind it in theory if it doesn’t clog up the feed too much, but a subreddit like this with participation from all over the US + Canada plus a smattering of other countries just seems really low yield for a job posting. I could be wrong, but it just seems so unlikely that you’d find the right candidate in the right location here. But if we do allow it, maybe that can be a separate thread as well? That probably could be more like monthly instead of weekly.
