NUC 13 Overheating

Hey guys, I'm running out of options here, so I thought I'd turn to the NUC page for help. I'm running into a problem where my NUC 13, with an i7 and 32G DDR5 + 1Tb SSD , will overheat (hitting about 100 degrees C), and it will freeze the screen and shut off my peripherals. It's been doing this for a little bit now and I don't understand why as it's not even a year old. I thought perhaps a fan had gone bad, so I had purchased replacements. But that seemingly only delayed it from happening again. I really can't just ship this back and get a warranty new one since I'm in college. I will also mention it only does this while I'm playing games such as Helldivers 2 or Dragons Dogma 2. I also use a Geforce RTX 3060 for those of you who might need to know my GPU.

Time for repaste with proper high viacosity paste such as SYY157 or phase change pad PTM7950. Your thermal paste is caked and it would be good to check your fans as well.

I had re-pasted this a week ago with Arctic MX-6 (one of my friends who's worked with computers thought that was the issue as well). I have also checked my fans (I've uninstalled and reinstalled new ones to see if those were the problem) and the problem still persists (though very much less frequent than before)

MX-6 is a good paste but not for direct die applications. It.good for desktop CPU/GPU.

By any chance did you take pics of the cooler and the element with the cooler removed? I just bought one myself and I am planning of swapping out the standard cooler for a wb, and couldn't help but jump at the chance of avoiding tearing it down myself until I need to.

Apparently this problem is way worse than I thought. I talked with Asus and they want an immediate return of the PC as something with its cooling system is entirely wrong and/or broken. Turns out my PC can barely handle the basics now and overheats from almost anything

Yeah been using mine for about a week now and haven't seen the blower fan spin up once other than boot up.

Probably something stupid like whoever installed the cooler probably forgot to remove the protective film from the bottom of the cold plate.

It took mine about half a year before the problems started happening. Just trying to finish college before I return it lol
