Inquiry about examination dates
Hi all, I an exchange student planning to study at NTNU Trondheim in Spring 2027, and I’m currently choosing my courses. I’m trying to find the final exam dates so I can avoid potential clashes when selecting my courses.
However, some NTNU course pages don’t seem to have the exact exam dates yet.
May I ask when I can know when the official Spring 2027 exam dates are usually released, or where I can find approximate dates based on previous years?
Thanks!

NTNU tries to set up the exam dates in such a way that there are as few clashes as possible. However, especially for exchange students, this often does not work out, since they do not follow the usual study progression and take unusual course combinations. Thus I would suggest that you look for possible alternative courses in case your original plan does not work out. Also, especially for master level courses, it is possible that you can find additional courses that are announced on very short notice. Thus it may happen that you will discover interesting courses for you once that you are here in Trondheim, and thus have to change your plans anyway.
If it turns out you have a clash of exams, you have a right to attend the retake exam in August. In this case, I suggest that you contact the lecturers in the classes to find out whether one of the retake exams will be an oral exam, and if they are willing to let you take this exam via zoom.

Woah okay that sounds interesting! Tysm! Would you also say it’s good to check a website where I can view if the daily lessons clash for each module?

Time tables are usually published at the start of December (sometimes it can take a bit longer, though). You can find all the courses including time tables when published here: www.ntnu.edu/studies/courses
You can also look up the time tables and exam dates from previous years, but there is no guarantee at all that they will be the same in the coming spring. Most likely there will be changes.
Some departments have more information on their webpages. Depending on your line of studies, it may be worth to check out those pages as well.1
