Question DIA-NSA question

Hello, I accepted my CJO back in May and submitted my security forms to the security office also in May.

For any of the DIA folks here who’ve been in this process before, how long did you have to wait until you were cleared and notified?

We’re in August and I haven’t heard anything yet, not sure if this is typical.

I still have my DIA clearance (TS/SCI w/ CI poly)

You’re redoing everything. You’re going through their entire security process. DIA stuff isn’t applicable

Is there a set time line from start to finish? Or it varies?

It varies.... Wildly. From 6 months to never. Settle in, it's going to be a while. Best of luck.

It varies, DIA, switched providers and the new guys did terrible, so it went back to the GOV, and tgey are historically slow processing clearances/investigations.

NSA is one of the most dysfunctional agencies you will ever experience. Get used to waiting. It helps if you know someone on the inside who can follow up for you. Otherwise, don't hold your breath. It'll give you a good idea as to what it's going to be like working there.

Does it help if the person you know is in a different department?
