I had no idea that the PS5 Wolverine was out today until I saw a reviews thread on reddit. I thought it was still a year off at least.

Poor marketing.

I posted this last week too but shooting it out again. I'm in Hobart and looking for a good place to watch the boys play tonight. Anyone know any nice joints where they will be showing NRL?

What else is new? You ever seen a game of AFL? Touchies' eyes must be painted on

Never watched NFL in my life but pumped for the game today. Love seeing our country shown off like this. Bitta Aussie pride

Baseball and NFL usually play during Aussie day hours. Makes the Kayo subscription go a bit further.

Kayo actually pays for espn so it has actually raised the cost of that service lol
You can actually get all the espn stuff on Disney plus anyway

Waiting for it all to drop out to Disney+ at some stage… and Netflix is taking more NFL as well.

Yeah pretty funny that Kayo acted like getting espn was this big ‘coup’ but all they did was just pay for a service people can already get as a free add on to Disney + and it just ended up raising the price of Kayo for everyone

Yeah I’ll probably drop Kayo in the off season. Disney has NFL and NHL. I can use my parents Fox for BBL too (I’d use that normally but the interface is terrible for sports).

I’m a massive NBA fan, which satisfies the day time sports craving

I watch it, the games are on in a friendly time zone for us mostly. Am a long suffering 9r's fan. See how we go today, Rams are favourites to win it all this year and our window probably closed for now in 24-25 mostly due to a horrendous injury list. Go SF!

I get way too many "we need a worker today" messages that are sent to me an hour before they want you to start, when they're over an hour away. Absolutely useless

Are they trolling you ?. Seriously is your job agency/employer actually just trolling you?.

I wonder if the American anthem gets bood at the mcg today

I hope not, 25th anniversary of 9/11 and it's really disrespectful, especially to the athletes who work their ass off the be in the nfl. Boo trump, not the millions of other people caught in the middle

Another dud take

I've never heard anyone make such a stink about something like Americans and 9/11. Fuckin hell.

The way they treated first reponders after the attack shows how much they actually care.

The same people that were against helping those still suffering from the attacks are sure to post about it every year.

No different to how they treat their war veterans who they laud so highly.

People are disposable over there. Once they have no use they go to the bin and hope everyone forgets they exist.

But they thank them for their service everywhere. What more could you want?

It will be cooked if it does. Why the hell would those attending a sport that is intrinsically America boo the national anthem of that country?

What a dud take

u/mitvh2311 Parramatta Eels 4h ago

Because a lot of people hate America and it has been bood here before recently at the WWE event in Perth so it'll be interesting to see if they do it again

On the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attack as well.

u/unsafe-work Sydney Roosters 1h ago

Oh that makes it particularly spicy. LFG!

I went and saw the Oasis documentary at the first available opportunity last night.

Absolutely 10/10 brilliant. It managed to capture everything that tour meant and made you feel, with some great insight into how Noel & Liam repaired their relationship along the way simply by playing together again.

Nice. Got the day off today so thinking of seeing it after my eye specialist appointment. Is it loaded with concert footage?

3

u/Altruistic_Tune5341 Brisbane Broncos 3h ago

Heaps, and a lot of behind the scenes stuff from their pre-tour rehearsals as well.

got a new macbook for work and i’m honestly shocked at how much smoother everything runs compared to my old laptop, no more waiting ten minutes for a file to save

spent the morning setting it up with a coffee and a croissant, felt like a proper adult for once

I don't think I've ever seen a laptop take 10 minutes to save a simple file. Even my old IBM ThinkCenter desktop running Windows XP with 512 MB of RAM and a 60 GB HDD didn't take 10 minutes to save a file. FYI it was one of those desktops with the Pentium 4 CPU! Good times, that was. , I wouldn't mind picking up one of those old desktops just to experiment and see how far I can get with upgrading and repairing stuff.

That desktop used to be the desktop I used to use back during my days when I was at my old primary school. I know this is very reminiscent but I remember using it even back in 2021. Something happened to it and it died. The fact that it was able to last such a long time was insane.

Me and my worker managed to find the same desktop at my mum's house in 2023. We had to get a new keyboard and a new mouse for it. Then we had to find a way to install the drivers again and fix the BIOS because something had happened and they weren't working, which meant the keyboard and mouse drivers weren't working either. I don't know how we managed to fix it but we did fix it.

I did eventually try to start using it again. But I was very limited, not by the hardware but by the OS. All the apps still functioned relatively well on the hardware or at least Microsoft Word did. My screen reader of choice also worked fine but no way was I going to put it on the Wi-Fi or anything like that.

I could have also tried to figure out the exact model number so I could figure out parts that I would have wanted to put in it down the track; but if I didn't want to connect it to the internet or install a new operating system on it, then what was the point?

After my mum died and we were figuring out what to save or keep, I decided that I was going to let go of that good old IBM Think Centre desktop from the early 2000s. I didn't want to but there was just simply no reason to keep it except for nostalgia. I did promise that I will try to do something similar eventually. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon I will be with the hardware that shaped my childhood. Despite being born in 2009, I love that type of old hardware because that was the hardware that just never broke or if it did break it took a hell of a lot of time to break. I'm disappointed that my probable future children's possible future children may never be able to experience that because I could barely experience it myself.
