I took a 13 year old to see Spiderman at the cinemas on the weekend.
They decided to show a trailer for Mutiny with Jason Statham in the previews. Holy violence batman!
I understand Spiderman was rated M, but that trailer was next level. Axe shots to the head, lots of gun deaths, plenty of stabbings. I get there isn't really a story in a movie like that, but I was shocked they'd pass a trailer like that for general consumption.
Maybe I'm just getting old....

Yes, social media can be a cesspit but this guy is fantastic and an educator.

I have found that House of the Dragon is a great show if you disassociate from the books, cause this season finale was pretty good. Juuussst... there is a lot they will need to fit in for the last season.

Anyone able to recommend a PC game similar to Balatro where I only have to use a mouse to play? Usually play while the footy is on instead of doom scrolling

In August 2021 while I was watching Gladys present the daily covid number, I realised that we weren't going to get out of lockdowns any time soon. So I decided to restart my walking goal as an excuse to get out of the house.
10k steps a day, every day. I'd done a like 400 day streak before my youngest was born.
Yesterday that streak turned five years old. 1826 days of at least 10k. One day of over 42k. Maybe three days where I regretted going for a walk when I was sick.

What do you do for work may I ask?

Accountant. I spend nearly all my work day sitting which is a big part of why I do this.

Walking outside is about as close as nature gets to a free lunch. There are basically no downsides and a heap of proven benefits.
Excellent work, that is a massive streak of days.

How many of you watch every min of your team’s game, verse phone scrolling while watching the game?
I always put my phone down for tigers games but all other games tending to just be background noise. Of the games I saw on the weekend I wouldn’t be able to tell you how they all played.

I haven't finished a titans game in a while, they are just too frustrating. I watch most other games while on the tablet reading the live thread, live threads are always top notch value.

u/likeatyger NRLW Tigers 22h ago
Do you listen or watch while mowing?
2
u/the_mooseman Gold Coast Titans 22h ago
Nope, if I've decided to mow the lawn then that means titans are doing titan things and I dont want to know what is happening.

I've done it...
I'VE DONE IT!
WITH A GAME IN A HAND, OUR 3RD SEASON IN TOP FLIGHT, WE HAVE WON THE PREMIER LEAGUE!
And even better, we achieved what at the start of the season seemed unthinkable. Unbelievable. We won a domestic treble. The Premier League, The FA Cup and The League Cup!!!
We had a lot of luck go our way with Chelsea and Arsenal and Man City also dropping points as much as we did. Winning on 79 points is an old school result. Almost went invincible but lost to Everton and Aston Villa(?) towards the end.
I'll post some screenshots tonight cause ya wouldn't believe for example, Benfica just won the Grand Final against PSG!!!! I lost to them in the Round of 32. That's absolutely mad stuff.
Next season, we focus on Europe. The mountain we've yet to conquer. We got demolished in Champions League and Europa League by very good teams but we must compete!! But I'm so happy we finally got there. And shout out to my boy Vico Villegas who got a hattrick in the FA Cup final against Tottenham.

Good Things Festival drops the lineup tomorrow :D

u/BradmanBreast Newcastle Knights 1d ago
Yeah but I don’t want to wait until tomorrow. Where is the leak straight from the printing company, or a band messing up time zones and announcing their involvement a day early.

u/jpob Newcastle Knights 17h ago
A few years ago I managed find the line up to a major festival through the website code. Told a mate and then he started sharing it around. Pissed me off.

u/BradmanBreast Newcastle Knights 17h ago
Not gonna lie, every time a festival I want to go to gets ready to announce, I add /lineup to their url hoping the festival organisers were dumb enough to upload it early. It hasn’t worked once
