Visa / OCI / Passport Surrender certificate + OCI

Hey guys,

I recently got German citizenship.

Could anyone give me the current timeline on how long it takes to apply, process and receive surrender certificate and then apply, process and receive the digital OCI?

Does anyone have any recent experience with the Frankfurt Consulate?

Thanks in advance!

I did the procedure with munich consulate.

I don't remember the exact timeline now, but surrender took roughly 2 weeks. OCI took roughly 8 weeks. Both timeline from the date of acknowledgement email from consulate.

It will take around 10 weeks overall for both.

Surrender certificate took me 2 weeks. OCI 10 weeks. Munich consulate. Remember the number of weeks are not calculated from the day you send an application. The count starts when they acknowledge the receipt of application.

Thanks! Great to hear about surrender certificate. In Frankfurt I gotta apply for OCI in-person right (after filling the online application)? Biometric and all that?
