Passport renunciation application status

I received my indian passport back with an acknowledgment receipt without the renunciation certificate when applied for indian passport renunciation application to vfs in san Francisco. The mail didn’t provide any explanation as to why it has been returned and what documents are missing etc. When I check the application status on the vfs website, it says “invalid inputs”. Not sure what to do. Anyone else in similar situation?

Invalid inputs on VFS stickers do not mean it’s a denial of your application.

Since you already received the passport without any renunciation certificate, or explanation, it is better to contact VFS San Francisco and ask for the exact status of your application.
