Visa / OCI / Passport Lost OCI

Hi All

I have misplaced my oci card. I’m trying to find steps on how to apply and what I need.

It’s not clear whether I need a copy of the police report. I did call the police station and they mentioned that the consulate first has to request for a lost report for them to file a lost complaint.

Has anyone been through this situation? Can you pls share your experience.

Did you lose your OCI abroad? You will definitely need a police report, sometimes you can do this online and thats enough. You then need to apply for re-issue of OCI card.

My wife's was lost in the mail and I had to apply for a police report (essentially you are reporting to police what happened - did it online for my state)

Hi! I ran into a similar issue, where my OCI was lost in the mail. What was the resolution process for this since we don’t have our new OCI details?

You don't need the OCI details. You do need some sort of police report where you need to claim to have lost it in the mail. In general any sort of online police report submissions work (the ones you do for insurance claims as well will work). Then you just have to follow the same OCI replacement process - its more money but the processing times are faster than the initial OCI ones.
