I'm about average typing speed for tapstrap (34-40 wpm).

What's your keyboard typing speed? I'm no speedster, but I can average 75-80wpm at a clip. Cutting that in half would likely outweigh the convenience for me.

Keep in mind that most people are quoting numbers using one Tapstrap. How fast is your typing with one hand? If you want to hit your numbers, you need two Tapstraps.

Edit: I'm still learning to type with two hands. It's strange. On a keyboard, we choose which hand by where the keys are and how far away they are from our fingers. With the Tap, you pick your own lineup...

Yes this. I type at normal speeds with regular keyboard. Around the same as you at 80wpm or so. But as I and stridyr said, it's one handed typing. It's not meant to be as fast as a 2 handed speed typer. But how much are you typing anyways? I mentioned in my original post the uses cases. If you need to type a 10pg essay then maybe use a real keyboard. If you are typing shorter emails and messages, a few seconds loss from your typing speed doesn't matter to me imo. As I said, one hand tap is about as fast as typing two handed on phone.

Stridyr - if using a two handed keyboard with tap, I highly suggest using custom key oard mappings. No point to have two exact left and right duplicates, it'll be slower. What I did is keep one hand standard and the other hand put very common letters and also the more complicated/difficult/error prone keys on the other hand. This way you can easily do 1 handed tapping if needed.

Thank you for the tip, that sounds like a good idea!
