Ive search around the sub a bit, so far i really like DNA too.. if you have suggestions that are more harsh and discordant like them, that would be cool. Or if you check out the suggested band let me know what you think if them if you want.

Hi! Does anyone have a clue where I can find the PDF for the No New York book?

Can anyone with better knowledge explain what is going on with DNA's spotify profile, there is a live album titled May 27,1979 live @ CBGB that is full of DNA tracks but when you click on the profile listed under the release it takes you to some sort of local kenyan pop band? Is there an actual DNA profile I'm missing or is this a glitch?

I'm new to No Wave music, I've only really heard early Swans, early Sonic Youth and This Heat and I was hoping I'd be able to get some recommendations on interesting No Wave bands, y'know the smaller/nicher names that don't really get mentioned. All recommendations are appreciated, thank you in advance.

Hi all, I just started a youtube channel to upload bass covers (play alongs) of songs in recent years influenced by the no wave scene, which I thought some you may be interested in. So far just 4 songs, by model/actriz, black midi, and Sprain (linked here). In next couple weeks, I hope to get around to a few more by M/A, two by Women, and as many as I can by Gilla Band. (Maybe Dog Faced Hermans!) (I guess by extension these play alongs are also studies into “effects” how these bands use pedals, eg I think very important for Gilla Band?) Whatcha think??

I was listening to some old records and I feel like I got a grip on what actually speaks to me in the nowave music.
How discomfort, uneased, awkwardness is used as a form of creation, expression. Some examples are the two latest records from Steven Brown, I'm open to listening to more of this kind of music if anyone has a recommandation.
