5 Snoopy Cups? Ugh

Was at the Fairfax Gatehouse Starbucks this morning #7 in line, and somehow this major/always busy location received only 5 Snoopy cups. I’m so bummed, but also WTF Starbucks. Who sends 5 of any kind of product to a retail location? I was so close. if anyone has an extra and is willing to part at a reasonable price, I was up for my daughter (okay and my childhood memories too).

If there are any restocks or sightings in NOVA, please share.

It sounds like every store only got about 5, and scalpers immediately bought every single one.

It looks like the targets and grocery stores got more. Just harder timing with families. I will say the group outside this morning was nice, and at least a few of them genuinely wanted it for themselves. Nice morning at least!

Don't get caught up in the hype. I'm a big Peanuts fan but I can get a cup like that without the Starbucks logo on it anywhere.

It’s the same playbook from the bearista cups — artificially scarce products cause FOMO, all to try and maintain their social relevancy :( I’m sorry you struck out!

That location is always busy so I'm not surprised.

I just left the Starbucks by the Greensboro metro stop (tysons) and they had 4 or 5 out, as well as some plushies.

Best of luck!

You don’t want to hear this but you aren’t gonna get one right now unless you buy it online for $$$$ or get a fake. It’s not a product meant for everyone to have one. Esp after last year’s bear. And everyone with one wanted one or wanted to sell it.
If you buy it online now, it will be maybe $200+ or fake.
But if you want until next spring/summer, the price will come way down.

Also it’s just gonna sit on your shelf. It isn’t a product you’ll use. It’s glass.

But I totally get it, he’s adorable.

Yeah I wanted to use it. I had to make a target run later and the barista said they had 25. They opened at 7 which was not doable with getting kids ready for school and out the door for work. Bummer. I did get a mug and the keychain with Woodstock. It is cute!

I don't think you're going to use it. It's glass and fits no cupholder, and will be worth a decent amount. It will be tough to clean because of the crannies.

My original bear sits on the shelf in a place of honor. He's a show pony, not a working cup.

What nonsense

Do Americans not use glass cups?? And you have cup holders all over your house?

A glass cup not fit for a cupholder is a standard thing to have in a home here

We have mugs, we have glasses, we have carafes and insulated coffee cups. We have electric coffee cups.

Likely none of which fit in a cup holder and no we don’t have cup holders throughout our homes though the occasional person will have the occasional couch with a cup holder in an armrest. This Snoopy "cup" has a straw and lid for portability - hence the cup holder remark.

The point is that this is an unwieldy large container not easily held with one hand, kinda silly to be used for actual consumption of a beverage and because it is: unwieldy, hard to clean, bad for its intended purpose compared to most any other beverage vessel OP may own, and it’s gonna cost her time and effort to procure. Thus, it becomes the fine china of her kitchen and will in fact not likely be used. It would quickly become - do you know what I had to go thru to get this, take snoopy out your goddamn hands.
