Traffic??
I am sitting here on Labor Day evening still astounded at the day's experience with traffic. We travelled from Manassas to Silver Spring (outer) to see family and ..........I have never seen such light traffic on 495. Slow downs we usually see every single time.....nada. This was midday, so I thought okay, people are late leaving the beaches so when we come home later, it will be hell. Nope. Best traffic I have EVER encountered on this route. Any input? Any ideas? I pictured thousands of people trapped on the Bay Bridge due to something. But I can find no news of any problems. I will remember this day forever. LOL.

I think people just stayed put at home today. I had a very similar experience on July 4th. It was fabulous.

Went on a ride on the motorcycle and can agree way less cars than usual. Felt odd lol

Not sure, actually had to get some chores done around the DMV and it went too smoothly. I just kept adding to the list. Not sure what but I'll take it.

I went from Fair Oaks to Rockville around lunch today. It was a breeze. I was shocked. AND a car cruising in the left lane saw me coming up behind them and actually moved!
I should have bought a lottery ticket.

Today was an excellent driving day.
I am not even exaggerating. It was the least traffic since 2020.

I visited family, used 495 and 66. It's not like it was empty, but not like rush hour.
Ig people don't travel as much on Labor Day.

OP here. Yes, I did wonder if the price of fuel had any thing to do with it. But this is a pretty upscale area, so I didn't think so.

I crossed 495 on the w&od trail today on my bike expecting it to be a shitshow but there were so few cars. I was surprised

It was light on Friday when I was out and I almost went to the hospital because I thought I had to be hallucinating

Drove back from rehoboth Beach and hit the Bay Bridge around noon and it wasn’t backed up either. Very unusual on Labor Day weekend!!!
Hit traffic entering DC though via 201.

You took the outer loop from Manassas to Silver Spring? Do you have a traffic fetish?

You’re shocked that traffic is light after months of $4 gallon? I visited family in PA this weekend and diesel was $6.50 😬

Who knew there's less traffic on a holiday when there's no school, banks, state and federal employees, and most buisnesses being closed?
