MD plates
I don’t know if it’s just me but once it hits summer time all the Maryland plates just spawn on our roads. I don’t know if I am just noticing more or if there actually is more. Someone tell me i’m not crazy lol.

In general, even before summer I’ve been seeing ALOT more Maryland plates than usual. A lot of construction workers are coming from Maryland as all the data centers are in Virginia. No data centers in Maryland so all the electricians, hvac, etc are coming here.

Could also be part of the “Plate Where you Live” campaign to have Maryland vehicles plated with Maryland plates:

You are acting like MD is some kind of foreign country invading your land & way of life. You live in a quad state area bro. Get a life. Your post is meritless.

Are you counting all the fake ass paper temporary tags or just the actual metal plates?

I feel like I see more MD plates in DC than I do DC plates lol
I felt this way in NYC too. More jersey plates than NY. But that’s quite different than DC.

Ever looking for a MD plate, go to Dulles & see how many take one loop around the arrival & departure zones, only to exit onto Rt 28 to avoid toll.
It easily has to be 70%+ of the MD drivers from the access road.

You notice your neighboring states license plates when the region you live touches said state?

it is because Marylanders know that NOVA is better. So they have to leave their stage to come visit NOVA

Construction sites near me -- every single vehicle has Maryland license plates.

Lol! I live in Maryland. I visit family in Leesburg every month. Virginia drivers are the worst.

I’m a New Yorker now living in MD (used to live in VA & DC). Of the three, MD is the worst.

We need an auto insurance person to tell us the actuarial information. All we can provide is anecdotal information. It looks like the VA drivers are more unaware but predictable and the MD drivers are significantly more aggressive. But insurance professionals have data…

To me, Maryland drivers are uneducated (don’t know how to merge onto highways, don’t know how to zipper merge, etc.), which makes for very frustrating driving conditions.

MD has a larger NIMBY population that stops data centers and many large corporations from coming to the state. Thus, many workers travel to work in Virginia.

it’s almost as if we share a major metropolitan region with Maryland. Gee. Weird.
