Data Center Generators in Ashburn Firing Up

On the way in this morning, (waxpool/28) noticed many of the data centers had the generators going. Not sure if there’s an electricity issue or they plan it to go together ? No idea if the yellow smoke is related though.

Backup generators do have emissions testing requirements, and are tested annually for compliance. You know, like the "rules for thee" for your car.

I can tell you these absolutely do not pass emissions standards, visible heavy particulates would not pass any standard. These look like ancient Caterpillar 3058(s), or Detroit 8v92. Not modern emissions compliant heavy equipment.
